What are you suggesting? Do you see a correlation between good futsal players and good field players? You should. A good soccer team with individual skill should excel at futsal. Otherwise, catergorize them as a kick and run on the field. MPS Knights are very good soccer and futsal players. Score was 10-9.

When your team plays teams from southern states, you come tell us how it went.

I guess I was suggesting that you are obtuse. Interestingly enough, your quoted post confirms it. Thanks for standing up to be counted.

A few years ago I was watching a friend coach players from his state champion soccer team during a futsal tournament. There was one kid on his futsal team that was head and shoulders above anyone else in the facility, but I didn't recognize him. After the game I asked my friend who the kid was. He explained that he cut the kid from his soccer team because he couldn't play 11v11. Once he was on the futsal court, no one could touch him.

Did you friend explain to you why he couldn't play 11v11?

That's so funny I knew guy who knew a guy that played futsal and ended up world player of the year! (Ronaldinho)You can't possibly believe that playing soccer in a small confined space doesn't help/translate to the outdoor game?

Why don't more sprinters run marathons? It's just running.

People who run marathons train by running a variety of distances they don't just go out and run a marathon. Soccer players train by building skills by doing a variety of things including futsal. Not sure how much you're involved in actual training but there are many soccer training activities that limit space for a reason. That is simply what futsal provides. Help build technical ability, speed of play, dribbling and passing in tight spaces. Yes, there players that are good futsal players that are not good outdoor players. That being said there are players who are good futsal and outdoor players. Those players end up being great players because they end up with very good technical skills to add to there superior athletic ability. There are many ways to develop soccer players and futsal is one of them. To say it doesn't translate is just simply ignoring all the facts that say otherwise.

Futsal serves a purpose but it in no way determines that a U11 Newton United team would beat another team outdoors.
