Maybe it is the fact that there is a larger pool of kids that coaches (A-C team) have to choose from, the coaching itself, or the kids. One kid being injured (sorry for that) should NOT make a TEAM go from winners to not winners.
With the talent so diluted at this age group, NEFC Central is one of the lucky teams that have a concentrated pool of solid players. But remember, the "team" is a means to an end for most of the people posting here. As long as you are secure with your son's development, that is all that matters.

What team went from winning to losing by losing one kid? That does not sound right if it is a decent team

Very important correction and I agree

NU is a decent team, just not an outstanding team. NU depends on one exceptional player and a couple of very good players. The other players are div 2. The quality I f dev is just not on a par with the other top clubs in this age group, it's not just a question of numbers as was asserted.

The original quote said ( sorry for that) as a child was hurt and his winning team was no longer winning. I am unaware of that happening to a team.

Thanks for the "insider" information (cough cough). This assessment seems recent from this poster (and sort of mean-spirited). Is this based on them playing a second level club team yesterday?
I highly doubt one kid can win a game for a team. I am curious though and will check them out myself sometime.

It was suggested that a player ("exceptional player")was injured during the STARS tourney and the team lost the game.

Yes it was an accurate appraisal of NU by NU dad. Sure he's embarrassed about it now but it's not exactly a secret. If it were the old days of Maple only, the other top teams would mark the one player and easily defeat them.

I looked back through thread and that is not what was said. I meant to cite the post # but now don't feel like going back to find it. It was definitely a non-NU parent that suggested "an exceptional player" was hurt because the rest of their post was trash-talking NU dad's non-exceptional player. There are several of those peppered since this past Sunday.

No. NU dad has a long list of excuses every time NU loses instead of showing some class and saying the better team won. His now embarrassing excuse for NU boys getting clobbered by NEFC was that a player was injured. If NU parents don't like his comments take it up with NU dad.

Clearly, this is a Valeo mom or dad who watched the top team players club-passed onto the second tiered Valeo team failing to win against NU on Sunday. I do find it curious that he/she admits to seeing one exceptional player and knowing it is the coach's son.

Is his son exceptional? Does he think his son will become exceptional with Valeo coaching? Or is he questioning the training? I mean, he has brought this point up several times now. What is the point exactly?

You are not making any sense. Whatever--

That game against NEFC was the best thing that happened to the players from a developmental standpoint (besides the BS on TS I hear about). Isn't that what's important, player development at age 9 and 10? Because one of the boys had a serious injury on the field and the team had 50% new players, several adjustments were made on subsequent games. Unexpectedly, those adjustments worked better than predicted as new strengths were identified.
That game has long been forgotten by NU boys, but please continue to use it for your blogger fodder. The important focus for us and the players is how they develop moving forward. See you on the field.
                            Have a great day, guys!
Ah, here it is. I never ever want to go back through this thread again!

These excuses long after the fact. Find the date of the game and look for NU dad's list of excuses the next day.

Maybe, but it really isn't that interesting. Why do you care, anyway?

So, what's on tap this weekend? Town or club tournaments?
