MPS runs nice tournaments but New England is NOT England. Bring a blanket, frozen last year.
July and end of November don't work in MA.

They are little kids. They should be playing for their town teams.

Oh no, loser town soccer dad is back. His kid isn't good enough to play high level club so yours shouldn't either.

I've never really understood this mentality. Wouldn't it be better for the non-club town players to play without the club players? That way they get to contribute more to the game rather than rely on the club players.

There are plenty of town teams at these younger ages that are essentially 100% club players--certainly my son's team is, as are most of the town teams they compete against. Columbus Day is the one weekend when those teams get preference and the kids can compete for their towns, which they love to do. Frankly, the U11 competition at the Natick Columbus Day tournament will generally be better than what NEP and MAPLE have to offer this fall.

No. By age 10 many boys can figure the difference between clueless dad coaches and professional coaches. Most have tuned you at while some start to drop by u11 because of the bad coaching, risk of injury and low level of kickball play. 90% will be gone in two years and those remaing can then kick each other all they want. And don't fool yourself. The more talented club players will start on your local high school team as freshmen. Your plan B no longer exists.

                  Or not playing at all.....
What percentage of club kids play town? What's the developmental benefit of playing both?

Personally, I used to think it give a chance to work on his "game" in a less pressure filled situation. Now, he refuses to play town z3mwhich I believe was a good decision .

This happens all the time. Let the boys decide. They usually outgrow town soccer by 11 or 12.

You guys must have really bad town soccer. Go to a towns like Brockton, Braintree, Revere, Dartmouth, Weymouth or Easton and play their town teams. There are towns that can and do assemble very good squads.

BAYS Div 1 U11 has some quality teams as well. In general, far tougher competition than the NEP U11 "Premiership".

Easton plays in maple. Though they did get beat by another town team 0-9 (Green)
