You've clearly scouted all the u11 teams. What makes a top 10 (being kind) player at 10 years old? You're a blowhards and obviously not actually associated with WU.

Even if they were associated with WUP... Why respond?

        Its a silly post.

Based on Stars and Aztec tournaments, WU seems closer to NU and Valeo than NEFC.

            NEP Update

Ok, 3 games in and that's enough to make some conclusions...

1). #1A NEFC Central and #1B WU are in their own league

            2) the #16 MPS Knights don't belong in this division...sorry guys

            3) The remaining teams divide clearly into...
            Above average...
#3 Bayside is fine (lost to NEFC Metro North)
#4 NEFC metro north has 1 quality win (bayside) but lost to Aztecs
#5 Seacoast is fine (beat 1 ok team, lost to best, beat worst)
#6 Aztecs seem fine (lost to bayside)
#7 Sachems is fine (lost to bayside).

            ...and Below average...
#8 Bulldogs have 1 win (Boston bolts)
#9 Celtic has 1 win (Boston bolts)
#10 Fc central (tied two lower teams, beat cavs)
#11 Cavaliers have 1 win (Fsa)
#12 Boston bolts have 1 win (scorpions)
#13 Scorpions lost to Bolts, tied FC Central
#14 FSA hasn't beaten anyone decent yet (stars and knights)
#15 Stars lost to FSA and tied fc central
            #16 Knights

Spoke with FSA parent today that says they are a split squad. They have 2 teams under one in NEP. The top team will play its games against the other top teams and the second team will play the other games.

Interesting, thanks for that feedback...will make ranking tough, but will help to explain "strange" results as they come. Do we know which squad played which games so far?

I know NEFC Central is good, but we'll be ready for them on 10/27. I think all the rest of you should come out to Marlboro to watch the battle of the remaining undefeateds...should be a good match.
Well with that post, I will be rooting for NEFC. And your team most certainly does not have the top 3 U10's in the state. So good thing you said top 10. Remember, there is a whole Maple league of soccer players and some good ones on bad teams in NEP.

Easy Dad! I am sure your little player is the best of all don't worry. Do you really think anyone would say that from any club. It's obviously some troll stirring the pot and you fell right in.

Still had to remind the troll that there are good U10's scattered about. ;)

And yes our team does have 3 really good ones too. The team is a means to an end for the really good ones. Some may be stars on bad teams and some may be one of several good players on a decent team So yes this is a fun exercise discussing team rankings at this age but what really matters is what each good player will do in the next coming years. Unfortunately, we can't discuss specific players!

....which is why you need to make sure each coaching situation is best for your player. Our coach can make anyone a soccer player. Our team is mostly from one elementary school and split this year into an older and younger team after playing together for several years. To fill in the roster for the younger team, the coach pulled from the elementary school (in addition to some great recruits from another town) and so far the improvement in some of the players is amazing. Most will not play high level soccer (certainly not to the coach's kids levels), but we are very comfortable with the coaching, the small team atmosphere, and short roster too (Ok one more player would be ideal). So what if we lose a game? My kid will develop into the best player that he can be and plus, the team does win most of the time. pretty handily even with some undeveloped players.

Coaches' kids? This sounds like a nightmare town scenario. I'm sure he rotates all the boys for dev. There is reason parents want professional coaches, not dads.

He's licensed so in a sense, he is just as professional as any club coach. This is far from any town nightmare. This is a small club with a small team (short roster). The coaches' kids (there are several coaches actually) are excellent players because they have been playing soccer for many years with very good coaching. If the coaches can develop my kid to a smidgen of that level, my son will be thrilled. He already is thrilled to be playing on this team. Think about it--these are mostly kids from one elementary school who have lost just one game. Who would be worried that the coach is not "professional" (i.e. some young guy who has no kids of his own).

But my point was- I agree that the real discussion should not be around "teams" but really around player development at the individual level. But as the poster above points out, can't really do that here (talk about individual players)!

U11 White had 4 blowouts out of 6 games this week. My guess is that JSSA Magic above and Abbey Villa will be a great game next week. I'd love a report on it.
