What are you talking about? Overhyped? Do you realize you are talking about a team playing in Premier league? That makes them one of the top 16-20 teams in Region 1. Playing at the top level? Yes - they are ready. So they did not win yesterday. That does not make them bad, or unable to compete. It doesn't help them get to the top 15-20 in the country obviously. But unless the only people on this forum are from Stars or Scorpions or MPS, I got news for you - your team ain't close to Syossit and could not compete them or anyone in the Region 1 leagues (and that includes the Maine and New Hampshire State Cup Champions). Stop the dribble about what one or two games mean and learn some perspective. Go watch a real game of soccer.

There will be a desire for people on this site to place infinite importance in next weekend's results. No doubt at least one of the teams will see the end to their quest for this year's premier championship. However, I implore folks to remember that these are 15 and 16 year old girls and that they all will have plenty more soccer to play this year and beyond. Please read the post from the advice line and remember that youth soccer is a marathon and not a sprint. Those that place too much value in individual results, no matter how important those results may seem at the time, do so at their own peril. Good luck to the girls. Next Saturday is a great day for Massachusetts soccer but ultimately there are things that are much more important so please try to keep the game and results in perspective!!

I think the best point for next weekend is that each team has the opportunity to control their own destiny despite the best efforts of the schedule maker and maybe higher ups in Region 1 to tilt the balance of power to the south. This is a testament to the girls, first and foremost and also the coaches involved because this was fact was a challenge. Whatever the outcome, the 3 teams should be very proud of themselves.

And Rovers won one and tied one. If Rovers can only tie East Meadow it is going to be a long season for them. Not a good day for Stars - 1-1-2, and the one win was against STA!

The Rovers did well - better than I think some expected. I think the comment above was a fair one - why is everything in this forum competitive? What did you expect from an honest commet? 0-2-1 is a great result for MA? We should look forward to more good play? After last week's results it was not very encouraging. After this week's results it all looks better. That is the problem with Region 1 - it is only three weekends. Too quick. It can lead to false impressions - good or bad.
