Organizations like the Stars/Scorps/MPS probably have more 'longevity-players' than most because of the size of their younger, feeder programs, the reputation of their organizations and the relative stature (showcase opportunities) of their U15/U16/U17 teams which encourages players to stick around.

I am curious. How many are still there from U11?
It looks like 7 or 8 after looking at the roster on the website. Then 2 players came down from the older team (Vettori and Brock)

It was almost like if you went outside, you'd get better players which made no sense since MPS stresses development. The chemistry of the team was definitely negatively affected because of all of the late additions. It would make sense if they were superstars added but usually it was decent kids from clubs who weren't going anywhere. The team is still good but would have been better if the club stuck with its original plan rather than always looking for the quick fix of new additions.

We were not recruited elsewhere but decided to 'jump' to a better program with better opportunies. To imply that the Scorps or Stars are out there actively recruiting to 'steal' kids from other teams is disingenuous as all teams are looking to improve depth/talent if the right kid is interestd.

No. I'm claiming that the added kids who were no better. The top kids that they wanted from the top teams would have no reason to come over. The team was already top 4 in the state. I think developing what you had at that point would have made more sense than adding going into the U16/U17 years. Just my opinion and why I left. Like I said, it's a good team ... just not improved by the additions.

It's always best to build from within as it offers good cohesion and continuity but for all teams, they need to replace kids who move up or replace kids who aren't producing/lose interest/have other priorities.
