I think we can all agree, no matter how we personally feel about HS sports, that it is still pretty important to the kids who play it. And as we all know the advent of club sports as put some pressure on HS sports. Maybe the best examples of that is ice hockey and soccer. I happen to have come across this today,
"The California State Assembly passed a bill Thursday mandating schools permit boys to play on girls’ athletic teams and utilize the ladies’ locker room if they gender identify as girls – or vice-versa for girls identifying as boys."
With recent stories of boys, who have a physical advantage over girls, competing on girls teams and as a result the team going onto championships, I'm just wondering if this might add another nail to the coffin of school sports. Perhaps I'm old fashion, but I wouldn't want my daughter playing on a team where she might lose playing time to a boy nor win a championship because of a boy.
