I can see how much parents of Q1/Q2 parents care about their younger teammates some of whom are trapped players. Not on our team at least, I feel bad for the teams that have parents like the one above, they have no idea what it is to be a good teams mate and I doubt they are teaching their kids.
Unfortunately, it probably wont. More likely thread will likely blow up as everyone scrambles to figure out how to re-position their kids post the change.

Not sure what you mean by "it's EA team". If you mean an MLS club has to change because it has its 2d or 3d team in EA, then no. If MLS dictates that MLSN clubs have to stay BY, then those clubs are either going have to leave MLSN, deal with two different cutoffs for their teams, or make all their teams below the top team in MLS stay BY. MLS doesn't have to change. Might they lose some Q4 to ECNL Boys? Maybe. But as long as MLSN is the top boys league, players will be reluctant to leave just to be a top dog in a 2d tier ECNL.

In my area, ECNL is better than MLS. I am waiting for the details after 11/22 to decide where to move my kid.

              Murder is technically justifiable.
Murder is also defendable in court.

Understand that US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer and AYSO have been in constant communication with me personally on the topic. We are all aware of the importance of consistency across the three biggest youth soccer organizations in America. US Youth Soccer’s and US Club Soccer’s leadership teams have met in person multiple times, most recently in September at the US Youth Soccer Grassroots Symposium in Salt Lake City. Additionally, we welcome the involvement of other U.S. Soccer Organizational Members. If you have any questions before the vote, please post them here on Talking-Soccer.com and I will do my best to answer them. You must be a resident of Massachusetts.

As many of you have indicated in your wonderfully colorful posts here, our next U.S. Soccer Board of Directors meeting is Nov. 22, 2024. We expect this topic to be on the agenda for that meeting and, consequently, a formal and public decision by the end of the calendar year. As always, thank you for your passion for the sport and commitment to our athletes.

So that will be determined during the meeting. There isn’t anything to report until a thorough discussion and subsequent vote.

I prefer 7/1. My friend prefers 6/1. Somebody probably wants 5/1 though. Or even 4/1. Guess 3/1 maybe for a few kids too. Not sure I've ever heard 2/1, but heck, might as well just keep it 1/1.

I heard ECNL will do BY from 2010 and above, then SY on 2011 and younger. This will create a crazy mess.

No. Everyone will be under same rules. ECNL can’t go by their own. All clubs will be school year for next fall season
