You know public school kids have to be approved by the school to stay back once enrolled correct? As for delaying kindergarten it happens in like .05% of girls and it's not going to increase beyond what's already happening for boys. You need to breathe. There won't be any adults playing against your freshman daughter.

A lot of the ECNL teams around me in the middle school age range have ZERO trapped players. RL teams have a third. Are we really supposed to believe that (if a change happens) the new ECNL teams will still have ZERO Sep-Dec kids on them, the oldest range? If it's non-zero, where are those kids going to come from?

I can’t still tryout regardless of the change. We can grab a beer.

Is or is there not a change. That is the question? Can someone call ECNL and ask for me.

It's a great point and why the RAE/participation stuff gets mixed into the discussion. My daughter is the only trapped player on her team currently.

Does anyone really believe the change will be a bad thing for kids? I get RAE is going to affect a different group of birth months. But don’t kids and parents at the ECNL level want the Aug-Dec kids on their team if they are good enough to make it? Will help build up the team and all the other teams as well. Kids will be competing with the same grade and the competition will be even better. Outside of June and July parents everyone should be excited about it.

if Q3/4 kids aren’t good enough then nothing would change anyways.

If you believe the rumors, they're pushing for a full US Soccer change. Could be only girls though, as ECNL could probably influence US Soccer a lot more on the girls side than boys.

If it’s from USSF then I would assume everyone would have to adopt. I’m pretty sure DPL allows red shirt kids to compete regardless of age for U19. As long as they are still in high school.

There is absolutely no way they'd have different guidance by gender. That would be the biggest **** storm you've ever seen. They can't even pay the gender differently. Imagine USSF trying to explain why it's good for girls but bad for boys.

The writing is on every wall. Instead of wasting your time bickering over here, just start paying attention around you.

It's happening The official announcement will come no later than November is my guess.

I was coaching a game last spring, and the other teams coach told me before the Game their youngest kid was born March 15. He knew that his roster was intentionally stacked with the oldest kids he could find. I assume he’s going to be shopping for new players when the changes are made…..
