It’s currently in the research stage nothing proven yet. But they have seen positive results.

School Year makes more sense for higher participation - at some point US soccer will make the change back. Participation is down 16% since the change happened in 2017 and that’s a fact.

Does it impact the national team - probably not, does it hurt future generations - maybe

Hurts RL teams in smaller markets - state league teams - and a majority of leagues outside of the top one.

I have zero insight although I am an NL coach and have coached for 14 years - I don’t know when it will happen, but it will. A lot of this was driven by Tab Ramos - it was a few, make a decision for the many and it didn’t work. All of the coaches are talking about it, but no one will know anything until the early september rules updates.

Great players will be great players regardless of birth month but we need the funnel as big as possible for the late developing players who become great at U14 and above.

I’d say it’s the parents who appreciate their players current team, and look at the older age wondering what crap is gonna be forced on them.

This is weird.
A) Those “older” girls are their classmates
B) Teams change every year, no one stays cuz of chemistry

What you just described is what the current trapped players have been dealing with for years. Who always have to deal with actual “cliquey older girls”. If anything this will unite team chemistry as they will all be in the SAME grade!!

That’s not how math works. January to December is 11 months almost 12 depending on 1/1 to 12/31. Between May and August would be 2-3. Nice try though. Glad you did your best on that one.

My kids team has a bulk of the players born April thru August. Heaviest distribution in July. We had 4 trap players born Sept thru Nov. Now tell me more about math.

How was anyone supposed to know that your team was an outlier? Most people's teams, especially if elite, have the most Q1 kids.

They allow organizations to either use the 12-month window most aligned with school classes, or use a 15-month window to flex summer birthdays to stay with their school class:

Do they really though? Stars Blue has 5 trap kids on a roster of 22. Just under 25% for last quarter birthdays. That’s even distribution rather than a Q1 heavy roster that you seem to think is the norm.
