Ah yea let’s go based on national players and the rest of the world. Make 99.9% deal with it for the 00.1%

Parent/kid A is currently experiencing hardship 1 (being youngest), hardship 2 (having two trapped years), hardship 3 (not playing with class friends), etc.
Parent/kid B is currently experiencing no hardship.
College coach/recruiter is currently experiencing hardship 4 (extra spread in recruiting trips).

ECNL: "The whole switch has proven to have been a mistake, maybe we should undo it. We could remove hardship 2, 3, and 4 completely, but that means we would have to move hardship 1 from A to B."

      Parent A: "Thank you."

      Coach: "Thank you."

Parent B: "The system was perfect. Parent A is just being selfish."

      Hilarious.

Your hardships don’t exist. Literally don’t exist. You can keep saying it but the facts don’t change. You’re wrong deal with it

But what irritates me is that in typical m******* style the daddies and mommies are more than happy to sacrifice other people’s kids to prop their mia up. Pretty disgusting behavior
That’s fabulous so if there is no negative for the fall birth year players there will be no negative for other kids when they switch to graduation year. So you should finally log off and stop posting because the switch (which is definitely happening) will bring nothing but positive changes. Right? Because again according to you there is no impact for trapped players then there most certainly wouldn’t be a negative impact due to the new system without trapped players. Perfect problem solved! Bring on grad year….

keep hitting refresh for news that’s not going into happen. Your mis will still be on the b team no matter the situation. There’s not going to be a change. Why change something no one other than fall bday parents perceive wrongfully so is a problem. I’ve debunked every single talking point. Yet you still don’t get it. Do you think the earth is flat too?

When did you debunk anything? Clearly good at taking credit for things that didn’t happen. Prepare for your kid to lose their spot this season because you aren’t putting in enough effort

They probably live in CT which till recently had school year cut off at January which generates less trapped players - only those who entered kindergarten late would be trapped. New for this year the cut off moved to the fall.

Go pound sand are you 87 years old? Are you posting on behalf of your great grandchildren? And it is 100% happening podcasts were slow rollout. Only question is August cutoff or graduation year. Most likely grad year as August can still have multiple grades on one team.

That’s why it will be September 1. August was arbitrary, school is in session in September for all.

So are you all going to come here daily trying to convince each other you are right? Let it go. ECNL and GA directors don’t care about your reasons to make this change or keep it the same. They could care less about you and your opinions. We are full of a country of entitled people who think if they yell louder they get what they want. No. Not here. The powers that be will make decisions based on what they feel not you, is best for creating the best pathway for players to play college, not pro. This has nothing to do with trapped players and everything to do with recruiting. The back and forth here is a waste of your summer.

Yes I agree they will make the decision regardless of what people here say. I think some people are hoping someone has some inside info about when that change will be announced. Perhaps clubs are already in the loop - some people here say they are, others say they are not. Despite some of the angry back and forth posts here, I know people want what's best for their kids. Some people have concerns about college and recruiting and I understand those, even though those are years away for us. I think for many parents they are worried about how their kids will handle a potential roster change (especially parents of younger kids). Yes, I think kids will adapt and will be fine in the end. However, the timing of the announcement would be nice to know so parents/coaches can explain to kids (especially younger kids) what is happening. Everyone says that clubs can keep the fall birthdays where they are and have them "play up" after the change. Maybe that's the case for some clubs, but I'm not certain everyone would do that. It's a domino effect, with fall birthdays moving down from the year above. I have no inside knowledge, but I think if the change away from BY is announced, it would be much easier for clubs to move everyone to their corrected age levels and to say this is the new rule- less backlash from parents that way. My kid has a fall birthday and is a grade below everyone on her team. If she has to move, I would like to be able to prep her for that so she understands. I would hate for the announcement to come just before tryout/offer time next spring and we have to explain it last minute. The timing of that would feel more like a demotion to her, rather than a rule change. The earlier the announcement, the better in my opinion. That way clubs can start to plan how they will handle this throughout all the age groups and have enough time to articulate that to parents and players.

Seriously not one legitimate fact to change has been made. Oh except that it shifts the burden to a different birth month. Someone will be the youngest always. There’s no benefit to making the change. 0
There are 59 pages worth of posts in this thread that have plenty of descriptions of the 3 major issues for trapped players that would all go away by returning to the original system that was used before USSF made it's power move to form the GDA. The ECNL podcast discussion goes into it in depth as well. You might want to check those things out before making your uninformed claim.
