People keep talking about how it will take too long to implement. What will? Technology is 8 years more advanced than it was in 2016 when the last change happened and all teams will still be compliant even if the rosters don’t change - some kids will just be playing up. What will take so much time?

Maybe they haven't heard anything official, because no one has announced anything official, but to not even hear the rumor would be crazy for club directors who make their living doing this. For no one in the clubs to have mentioned to one another, "Hey, you might want to listen to the ECNL podcasts about this," would be wild. A bunch of trolls on TS picked up on the podcasts, but ECNL club directors didn't?

Exactly. It’s one email. This year for tryouts, register by your child’s high school graduation year, not birth year. All ECNL and GA teams are aligned nationally and, per new league rules, will now be formed around graduation year to better correspond with college recruiting, which is our mission and also why you are here. Here’s a drop-down menu to make it easier.

Got some bad news for all the grad year families. Here is an email directly from ECNL. NOT happening.
this has been a topic of discussion in social media for the last three months. Christian and Doug even discussed it on ECNL podcast breaking the line. I recommend that you listen to that episode.
Since then, no further discussions have been had. Christian is always in conversations with US Soccer but he has not come up in a conversation as of late.
If a change in birth year to school year would happen, our membership would be informed immediately.

CL said there "is a discussion" going on at that time and that there was "strong momentum," but this email says "no further discussions have been had," i.e., no momentum and no discussion. If this is true, they should mention it on the next podcast to put the rumor to bed, as this means their last word on the topic was essentially incorrect.
