We’re new to ECNL(Regional) this year, and my daughter’s team looks like they’ll make the playoffs. The start date is June 12th and school is still in session. Is it an expectation to ditch the last few days of school in favor of the tournament? In situations like this, do teams forgo their spot to the next in line if they won’t have sufficient attendance?

If your family is ready to put your child’s education over ECNL-R playoffs then look for a new team at a lower level because you’re not ready for the commitment of serious youth soccer

All rhetoric aside, why would ECRL start playoffs while school is still in session? June 12 is early.

I agree! And other divisions are even earlier than that. Our end date of school can change due to snow days, so even knowing the playoff dates ahead of time doesn’t really help.

You made a commitment at the beginning of the season. You got the email from the club or coach with the potential dates of playoffs. Isn't this what your team has been playing for, a chance at regionals to make it to finals.
