    Ecnl playoffs

We’re new to ECNL(Regional) this year, and my daughter’s team looks like they’ll make the playoffs. The start date is June 12th and school is still in session. Is it an expectation to ditch the last few days of school in favor of the tournament? In situations like this, do teams forgo their spot to the next in line if they won’t have sufficient attendance?

    Yes it is expected

You’ve had the dates all year. It’s expected you go to playoffs.

If your family is ready to put your child’s education over ECNL-R playoffs then look for a new team at a lower level because you’re not ready for the commitment of serious youth soccer

Exactly. You need to be ready to turn down an offer from Amherst to go play at Chicago State so you can say she plays D1. Get with the program. Otherwise just go back to rec. This is youth soccer. This is life.

All rhetoric aside, why would ECRL start playoffs while school is still in session? June 12 is early.

Elite Clubs Recreational League goes by their own calendar.

You’re an ECNL parent talking down about your club or just a bitter dad whose kid is good enough for neither?

I agree! And other divisions are even earlier than that. Our end date of school can change due to snow days, so even knowing the playoff dates ahead of time doesn’t really help.

And if Finals are involved it’s not as easy to skip as most days of school.

SoCal don’t have a clue about snow days.

ECRL playoffs are set up differently. They have a regional playoff and the winners move to a national final. SoCal has nothing to do with the dates for the East region.

You made a commitment at the beginning of the season. You got the email from the club or coach with the potential dates of playoffs. Isn't this what your team has been playing for, a chance at regionals to make it to finals.

If your team is over rostered you can skip the playoffs

So skip your Algebra 2 final to play 3rd level soccer? The league needs to think about their schedule better.
