    1. Age 10-14
Play as high level as possible but be sure your kid is playing, a lot. Not a bench warmer. Make sure you have a coach focused on your players development not just wins. ECNL, ECRL, NAL, GA does not matter until Sophomore year of HS.
    2. Age 15 up
Play on an ECNL OR GA team where there are many scouts at both league showcases.
    3. Get good grades.
    4. Target well, have players reach out to coaches.

No college coach cares if your on Stars Blue or RI Surf GA or Scorpions… they want to see good players and fill positions. That’s it. Fight all you want over GA vs ECNL. College Coaches don’t care. Just soccer dad’s egos care.
They will care about the difference between Stars Blue and RI Surf GA.

Nope. They don’t care. You do. They only care about good players and college coaches know that not all the best players play for blue no matter how much you all push your marketing. RI Surf has the best player in New England I believe on their 2009 team. You think college coaches won’t recruit her? Please. Play GA or ECNL both are good for scouts. Play on the top ECNL team or the lowest. Doesn’t matter. Both teams will be at the same showcase. Reach out to the coaches at the Showcase and let them know you are there. If you are good you’ll be seen.

as been said before in terms of leagues:
        1. ECNL
        2. GA
        3. ECRL, NAL, DPL are the same

teams can vary in those leagues, and players can vary on those teams.

This can change. It has before.
Follow the coach. Get playing time. Don’t follow the rankings.

          Best player in New England?

          Hype.

Good point on number 3. You have players in those leagues that have trouble making their HS Varsity teams.

I have heard that scouts don’t attend many GA games, only the top teams games.

Your ranking leagues not players. Soccer is a team sport but it’s also highly individualistic. The league does not mean that the players in that league are better than the others. ECNL have “core players” who are better than 90% of the entire league. The bottom 1/3rd of most of these rosters are not better players than the top 1/3rd of GA. My daughter played ECNL and committed early yet she played in these college showcases so that she could play alongside the majority on her team who wanted to be seen by colleges. Your ranking leagues not individual players. If there was a true ranking of players it would look a lot different to coaches.

ECRL 1 & 2, DPL, NAL will be lucky to get low level D3.
not at all true. I know quite a few players from NAL that have committed to D2 schools. Look at IFA West. Not everyone can make a 2+ hour drive from Westfield to play on an ECNL team and coaches know this.

Very subjective statement which is just your opinion. The data states otherwise. ECNL has the most commitments but the percentage is very small on those players getting commitments from P4D1 top 30 programs. The vast majority of ECNL players are in the same player pool with 95% of the overall players. The majority have to settle fo colleges that are not the first choice or desired college.

The commitments you seem to be hanging you har on will only increase for GA. They have a huge funnel and are highlighting/showcasing players the same way ECNL does.

While the numbers might be in favor of ECNL right now you have to keep in mind the last couple years of commitments are the last of the DA blow up years when everyone went to ECNL because nobody knew if GA would work out.

Verdict is in GA isn't going anywhere and now that the DA fiasco is in the rear view the number of commitments will only go up.

Also, the person that keeps trying to equate GA to ECRL is an idiot.
