The 2009 GA champion SSS team lost 0-5 to the 2009 ECNL champion PDA team today.

So how does that explain the.500 record versus the rest of GA?

Not really. Most of ecnl losses are at the 07 and 06 years where those ecnl teams are playing RL players. And you’re talking like 3 losses. GA is exposed

Think we are seeing a preview of where SSS might finish in ECNL next year.

Does your kid want to play soccer in college? I’ll cut through the BS here.
                1. Age 10-14
Play as high level as possible but be sure your kid is playing, a lot. Not a bench warmer. Make sure you have a coach focused on your players development not just wins. ECNL, ECRL, NAL, GA does not matter until Sophomore year of HS.
                2. Age 15 up
Play on an ECNL OR GA team where there are many scouts at both league showcases.
                3. Get good grades.
                4. Target well, have players reach out to coaches.

No college coach cares if your on Stars Blue or RI Surf GA or Scorpions… they want to see good players and fill positions. That’s it. Fight all you want over GA vs ECNL. College Coaches don’t care. Just soccer dads egos care.

That's not true at all. My daughter was told to move from one ECNL club to another after she committed to an out of region P5 program because the coach felt she'd receive better training with more talented teammates.

The ECNL and GA coaches move from club to club so no college coach could recommend moving to one club over another due to the fact the coaches jump ship regularly. Follow the coach sure, don’t follow the club. As long as you are with a National path GA or ECNL even if your team is dead last they go to showcases where the scouts are. Reach out to the college. Let them know you are coming. If your kid is aiming for a New England college give the coach your season game schedule. Coaches don’t care if you are ECNL or GA , if your player is good they will get seen and get a spot.

Agreed. I’m done with the Stars Blue ECNL BS. Every thread get hijacked by people who think soccer in MA is about Stars Blue. Many excellent players in this state that have zero interest in Stars or the ECNL fixation. A few years ago everyone wanted to be on NEFC GA, now it’s Stars. But college coaches are looking for strong players not strong clubs not even strong teams. Don’t get sucked into marketing.

Trust me nobody ever wanted NEFC GA

Good players get looks. The question is whether mid third players get those looks and how much. GAs top kids have ourtcomes similar to what theyd have at an ecnl club but the GA middle level kids fall way behind.

Not many GA teams in the younger age groups but if you take out the newest ECNL team SSS, the results are a slight advantage to ECNL (10 Wins, 8 losses, 4 ties). The 2012 age group is topped by neither an ECNL or GA team

ECNL will get the most offers.
GA will get almost as many.
ECRL 1 & 2, DPL, NAL will be lucky to get low level D3.
