She has the same intangibles as Jordan and Kobe that you either have or not. Nothing fake about her and people see that.
Actually they picked her first for only one reason. She will fill seats and increase viewership dramatically. Opposing teams are moving from dinky to bigger venues next season when her team shows up. Great business decision!

Or better yet, the new coach should create a new clubhouse environment that focuses on being proud of what you represent, playing top competitive team soccer, not worrying too much about and being supportive of everyone’s diverse situations and perspectives.

The Forum is talking soccer Massachusetts. Not talking basketball Massachusetts.

4 of the last 6 posts are about women’s soccer, which is the point of my thread. OP. The WNT Soccer needs a serious overhaul. The U.S. is ready to strongly support a women’s sport. Looks like basketball might have the answer. Soccer is in the worst hole in the past 2 decades. A long way from Mia and Brandi days.

Keep in mind Albert is only 20 years old. She made those inappropriate comments a few years earlier. She is a little wiser now from the experience and should be given the benefit of the doubt. Without having to get on bended knee to Rapinoe and after the Olympics both Morgan/Horan will be less significant i believe Emma will give her a second chance in June.

Basketball is infinitely more popular and yet WNBA teams struggle mightily to stay afloat and can't pay decent salaries.

Womens soccer and Basketball have both been in a funk. At least soccer gets the World Cup and Olympics as showcases. It peaked in 99 then oscillated up to the current nadir. NWSL has teetered on bankruptcy. Europe may provide a lifeline.
Basketball peaked during the UConn Tenn battles but then simmered until recently. No one bothers with Olympics. It’s March madness lived in the shadow of the men.
i thought after 99 and some of other World Cups US soccer might go somewhere, farther than basketball. I thought that women played more attractive soccer than basketball. Youth programs surged. But now Europe has passed us by and we have a somewhat unlikable team. I hope the new coach will build a National Team we will all be proud of.
