We are proud to announce that NEFC has been given a second designation in the Girls Academy! Both NEFC teams will play in the Northeast Conference!.

Makes about as much sense as Stars Blue and Stars White but hey....more badges means more $$$ right

There are a lot of good options in MA and rest of northeast that can help the league grow, create competition and make each other better. Instead of that it is about getting as much money as possible on the short term!!!

The GA letting NEFC have a second slot, but over looking NE Surf and Aztec just sums up the ego maniacs who run the landscape. Same with ECNL giving Stars and others a second slot over more competitive external brands. Sad, insecure men with small….

The ECNL and GA are both leagues run by the clubs that are in it. Sounds like a great idea, because the clubs want the best for the league, because they are part of it, right?
The reality is that the big clubs in the league call the shots; leave competition out, making sure they get extra teams and create a monopoly in their region. They can charge whatever they want, offer a poor product and get away with it, because all the good players will come anyway.
Why are people asking still why US Soccer(and especially the Northeast) is in a downward spiral?!!

I don’t think they overlooked NE Surf … the Surf folks hinted at turning down other league opportunities in the hopes of acquiring an ECNL slot in the future

Surf people are ex-GPS. They participated in unethical and borderline criminal activity. The people involved remain involved. Young coaches were victimized and kids were hurt in the transition. No reason to reward them today.

Plenty of other coaches in the club who had nothing to do with that, why penalize them?

Plenty of other places to coach. Rewarding an org that still has ties to the people who drive what occurred perpetuates and excuses the behavior.

                      maybe Aztec didn’t apply?

Makes sense - water down their top GA team into multiple weaker teams. Will likely net them more $$$ on the books. Rosters will still be full. Top tier talent will be playing elsewhere anyway come Fall.

Look at nefc revenue filings. Top salary goes to former 18 year GPS director.

What you are missing in your comparison of NEFC vs. Stars (and GA vs. ECNL) is that the ECNL clubs that were granted second teams had teams in both ECNL and GDA at the time. When they decided to leave GDA, the additional ECNL team was essentially the GDA team moving over. According to US Soccer, GDA was the top league, so why wouldn’t ECNL want to accommodate those players?

What s happening now in GA is not the same. They are backfilling (which is understandable) and trying to replace the 5 clubs that have been accepted to ECNL. Replacing Select in MA with a second NEFC team is an easy solution.

Check your liberal self crazy soccer mom. It’s not just me. Who run these leagues. Diversity is a red herring to get votes and drum up emotions. Having all men or all women run something is inherently bad or good. You’re just another lemming that falls for anything you hear on tv
