So long as none of them are SSS, I'm happy to see our family grow.

GA is not going bust. Just stop. Ukies, Rush, and Nationals are good clubs but there’s no danger to GA. Hell, DPL is doing plenty fine with a bunch of C squads. I still see players getting recruited out of E64 and NPL. GA is too well connected to ever go bust.

Yes but it's not 2 dozen, maybe3-4 more. Its damaging but not terminal. Now if more defect next year yeah that's bad. This is how GDA started its death knell

But if they no longer have clubs college coaches want to come watch that’s the end of them.

                      No.
Coaches will go where they can find players that fit their roster. Dozens of college coaches go to DPL showcases. And, showcases are just the first step in the process.

I guess the question I would have as an outsider is this: why?
Why does a club leave a league to join another? Is GA just not providing what the club is looking for? Is it money related?

Also an outsider. And as an outsider I assume that the insiders at these top GA clubs have assessed that their position at the top of GA is less desirable than joining ECNL. That’s all I need to know, but I make further assumptions.

I assume that money is a part of it as it is for all businesses but the ability to attract money is partly dependent on the league and its ability to give its clients what it wants. These three clubs determined that the league wasn’t going to attract enough clients to make it financially desirieable to stay in that league.

Yes but are they the types of colleges that would warrant driving multiple hours for most games and flying to multiple showcases. DPL colleges are not the same level of colleges that ECNL and GA have sold to their clients. If the level of college drops, the willingness to participate and pay for GA will also drop.

The difference is about the leagues themselves. ECNL and GA are both about providing the best environment to train and play in a competitive environment vs. competitive players. That is what US Soccer was pushing for when they started GDA. To compete at the highest level with the best players. As we know that imploded and only strengthened ECNL. Clubs in all four regions know to attract the top 1% of the players in an area they must afford them this competitive environment to maintain a high level within the club. As we know some have a high consistent standard and others don’t. College coaches are drawn to the ECNL showcases and tournaments because of the higher standard of individual talent. That is the key difference that parents confuse that development is highly individualistic and players in ECNL know there visibility is that much greater when they see the quality and quantity of coaches on the sidelines. That attraction in that environment is why every club would welcome being brought into the league. GA gets its fair share as well but if you look at the top of the soccer pyramid the vast majority of teams are mostly ECNL players. It’s just a fact that is irrefutable.
