I'm the person who weighed in on D going to Berky camp a few times.

100% what is said above - my D went one year without knowing anybody there period and had a blast. Another year went without knowing a single person, but was going with her future team who she didn't know anybody yet and it was great from that perspective - super focused Team bonding and really helped her find her way onto her new team. Other years she went with 1-2 friends.

Her energy and excitement telling me about it was the same each time... The only real negatives in general she had, was she wished there was more soccer and also the weather was crummy one year which resulted in them having to be bussed 45 minutes to fields each day and they barely got to swim in the lake.. (I do not believe they have onsite indoor facilities for soccer)

Just built a covered turf field for this summer I believe.

A real parent knows having at least one kid they know going to the same camp is essential. No kid is going to camp on their own.

Will your child need a friend at work when they go to a new job too? Ridiculous. My son goes to camp without knowing other kids. Funny he is able to make friends every time.
