new posts

I'll entertain you with one last post. You won being wrong about every accusation.

    1) I didn't read the game program. First time seeing KM play.
    2) I searched online and found topdrawersoccer.com that only gave the information I noted. I also found this site in the search, and it was an old post. I posted on another discussion and discovered that the post went to today's post. I decided not to try to create a new one and just used an older one because I didn't think that my original question on KM's youth development was worth it.
    3) Another poster led me to the information about U10-U18, which I found as I continued my search. If you recall then I asked if she played town soccer as well. I did so much searching and can't even recreate the path. Obviously, as you point out, I didn't do a very good job.

I threw out vague questions that I hoped would apply to anyone going down the path. As parents, you have to learn the system and the level you're at sometimes is age specific. You have to grow with that. I'm still growing.

The reason I stated the posted is smarter than I am is because the responses contained information that I never thought of. Much of what was said wasn't agenda driven, it applied to all parents. I actually never thought of sleep being that important of a factor.

Naive is a harsh comment. I'm learning as I go...not the most experienced parent at this point. I have core beliefs and just try to make the right decisions. Hoping not to make too many wrong ones.

You won though. I'm not in the middle of anything. It's an online board, and the questions I asked were harmless. At first I was someone else, then I'm agenda driven, then I'm a liar. What was there to gain? Ask yourself that.

He is so close minded that he can't even stand the idea of a discussion taking place if he doesn't personally agree with everyone he believes is in that discussion. I agree with what you wrote above. Everybody doesn't have to agree in a discussion and often the value boils down to just having the discussion. Opinions don't necessarily change all that radically but you do learn things just from reading what other write. His problem is he doesn't want to learn or change any of his opinions and the process of having the discussion just sends him into orbit.
Here is the real issue. He is convinced that you are someone else, a poster known as BTDT. He can't stand that poster and sees virtually every single post on this forum as being authored by him. As you see he reads all sorts of things into posts and has combined all sorts of different people's opinions into one big monstrous persona that he fight with incessantly.

Ahh, I see. Thought it was an anonymous forum.

The poster must be an attorney (prosecutor). Wouldn't want to be on the stand against that guy.

Persecutor. Have you read what the guy writes? It barely makes sense except if you accept the twisted logic the circumstantial evidence says is plausible.

Everyone's situation is different. There are so many factors to consider with player development, and choices will depend on the player's ability, talent, drive, size, conditioning, maturity, achievements, etc.

Why not have a discussion and weed out what doesn't apply to your situation? If you don't have an interest in a discussion, then why patrol the site? That's a lot of work to type up every post, for every state.

He picked my comments apart pretty well. I wasn't prepared for it.

The poster is called Perspective. He used to sign on but now doesn't. He used to rail against anyone not signing on but I digress.

He is also claims to be an MD. Psychiatrist. He also has no female soccer playing children, but has a son who is in a D3 college.

Looney tunes. Every thread devolves into he and his nemesis "BTDT" doing battle until interest wanes and they start to take over another thread.

BTDT has his detractors but has two daughters that have played at high levels. His younger is a NT player. He can be obnoxious but has some real experience to draw from.

Perspective has a lot of opinions...not a lot of tangible experience.

What does it matter if none of the conclusions are founded in reality?

Perspective will be along shortly to brand you all a bunch of lying liars. Who lie a bunch.

Thank you for the update. Not sure I understand and thought nobody would even respond to my initial question.

The response I received from probably BTDT to my rather vague questions I'm going to keep handy and utilize that advice as it applies to my situation. I appreciate it.

Thanks again. If there is ever a thread of opinions on top-tier player development I'd be interested. Not sure why that would be such a sore subject.

This was a poor effort and then multiple other posts after this one didn't help.

When you search KM on the internet topdrawer doesn't even come up. Let me tell you what does come up, even for an allegedly poor researcher like yourself -- Boston Breakers, Women's NT site, BC Eagles, Scorpions, etc. All of those have bios, which I am sure even you are smart enough to know. And you were really curious but didn't pick up a game program? There is no a single logical or believable aspect of your explanation. You made your scenario vague to intentionally make the eventual replies educational for everyone? How thoughtful, especially for your very first day on a site you knew nothing about and had no knowledge of the norms here. My guess is you will eventually have "one more post' or "this really is my last post" augmented with a few nasty swipes at P, who btw, no one knows what experience he has nad doesn't have.

If he has had two kids at high levels in college why is one of them at the lowest level of D3? Most would agree there are a lot of levels in between.

Does celebrity experience automatically make one a good advisor?

So your first day ever on the site was what, 2 or 3 days ago? And the bug already had bitten you this hard? Now here day and night, and your friend just happens to be posting right before and/or right after most of your posts?

Why don't you actually tell us some more specifics (hiding the specific club you play for or whatever if you wish) so that BTDT can offer you some even more personalized advice?

I bet now you wish you had just put knowing that she played for Scorps in your first post, but you knew that doing so would risk being outed as fictitious right away. Well, you were outed right away anyway.

This is what you would like to say now, and I'm sure your friend will say this for you shortly -- "Who cares if something was made up or not or who wrote it, as some real issues were raised that might help some people and should be discussed so let's forget the motivation and why these scenarios keep popping up every day, forget whatever the agenda might be, and just discuss the content of the issues."

THANK YOU to whoever started up this thread again. It was dead and buried for almost 18 months and now 12 pages of entertainment to spice up the summer slow season.

For your next assignment, please go to the threads on the Baconater or the Belchertown twins. It will help me get to the start of the fall soccer season

Pretty sure the older one transferred from D1 and now plays D3

Younger one is not college aged but is rumored to be attending Duke to play soccer.

Both played club at a fairly to very high level.

Experience is valuable. You can disagree with his positions but he has had experience from which to draw from. I don't think celebrity has anything to do with it.
