This has nothing to do with KM in particular but I remember a series of nasty posts on this forum or on the predecessor touchline in what was probably her junior or senior year. It was after a loss to Weymouth (in the south finals maybe)? Real ugliness which seemed to emanate from within the WH team (it could have been a Weymouth troll) and disputes over which players got all the attention on the team and which were more valuable. Having seen what crap about opponents some of those name identified WH parents posted on the Globe website in later years - my bet is it is one of them with a long and jealous memory.
That said - I think KM is an outstanding player - never saw her play HS, but saw her play club and college.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostYeah, her HS career was great. Played on a team with three D1 college superstars and unable to win a MIAA state title. Same type of results at BC ... what a leader! She has been average in USYWNT World Cups. She may be the best female player from Mass, but that is like saying that she is the tallest kid in first grade. Good luck in Australia and then back here for to play "pro" soccer but who expects her to actually win anything?

She was also the final player left of this summer's Olympic roster and the only college player who was even in consideration. I think she has a pretty bright National Team future ahead of her.

But I think that is fine to do this for a while. Then when you hit your late 20's you put aside sport and get a real job.

She has also taken time out of her own busy schedule to show up at 2 practices to help out with my daughter's team in year's past and the kids were overwhelmed with joy to see her. You need to take a serious look in the mirror if you have a problem with this young lady and her accomplishments.

apples and oranges
This is one of those newsy things that some people get excited about and others couldn't care less. The reason for it is because some individuals are not impressed by a college academic failure going on to post college athletic success, hopefully. To some, going to Australia is an extension of her childhood dream of playing professionally, and people champion that. Nevertheless, to others, it is likely she will need to waitress to supplement her lifestyle. And when she gets to 30 she will be back in new England continuing her waitressing profession, but with some great memories. Shortly put, she is living her dream. Congratulations and good luck.

So maybe it is a jealous Weymouth parent?
Whichever - it is ugly as well as not factual.

Here are some facts on BC:
1.) They did not meet the 3.0 team GPA requirement for NSCAA team recognition.
2.) They did not have a single player on any of the various Academic teams requiring the 3.3 GPA. They had two from this year's squad, Wagner and McCaffrey, make last year's all ACC Acadmic team - requiring a 3.0.
3.) Two players not majoring in general liberal arts or education. So the bulk of the starters are enrolled in easy majors.
Bottom line, you go to BC to play soccer and if you get the degree, you learn a hard lesson - that a degree in Education or LA, with a 2.75 GPA doesn't get you very far in this life!
