BTW, we do live in a country where 30% believe anyone affiliated with an abortion clinic should be murdered. Not to mention the 40% who believe Obama is a Muslim terrorist.
And a significant portion of that 30% is probably Muslim. Of course they kill their daughters for even dating non-Muslims.

I have no editorial comments to add.
I also spoke to mine this weekend. She goes to college in another state and was well aware of the incident practically moments after it occurred. That's how quickly news travels these days. Whether her school does a better job of communicating NCAA rules or simplly her coaches are much stricter, she told me they are NEVER suppose to be communicating about an opponent. And she also added they can't even appear to endorse a product. She said that posting something like "I think Dunkin Donuts is the best coffee in the world" could be considered an endorsement that goes against NCAA rules. She agrees with your daughter on all other points.

I'm one who believes BC had the right to determine punishment, although I have questioned whether the punishment actually fir the crime, but based on the information my daughter gave me this weekend, I'm wondering if BC really had any choice in the matter or if punishment guidelines are determined by the NCAA. Since the complaint originated with Penn State, it was not something BC could sweep under the rug.

I think you just proved the point. "A significant portion" is Muslim? What % of the US do you think is Muslim? And US Muslims "kill their daugthers"? Wow. What % of white males are OK with their daughters having an interracial date? That's right, the racism and bigotry of white males don't count.

And I think after nearly 500 posts we could all agree that a serious mistake in judgment was made and leave it at that. Or should we have some more mothers quote their daugthers and maybe get a petition going to ban this kid from all activities for life?

Where was it established that the complaint originated with Penn State. I was under the impression that the steps were taken by the BC AD at his own prompting.

Only because of the efforts of people from outside their organizations. In my book that doesn't count for anything in terms of their absolution from responsibility. Neither organization regrets their cover-up but they do regret getting caught.

Okay, now we have discussions on hyperbole, comparative analysis on school's training of their athletes in the use of social media, muslims, abortion, and two girls playing college soccer that were unsurprised by Ms. Binky to Kinky's comments. What direction do we go in next?

I realize that. OK to criticize the Christians, but you'd better not saw anything about the Muslims, even though they do in fact have this thing about honor killings and such. But then it's only women affected, so who cares. Far worse what Republicans were proposing for American women. Paying for birth control and your own abortions - Oh the horrors!!

1989 16 year old Palestina (Tina) Isa was murdered by her father with the aid of her mother in Missouri because her father felt she had become too Westernized.
2003 17-year-old Shafilea Ahmed was killed by her mother and father because she had beome too Westernised.
2008 25 year old Sandeela Kanwal was strangled by her father for trying to end her arranged marriage.
2008 Amina and Sarah Said were shot to death by their father in Texas for having non-Muslim boyfriends.
2009 Aasiya Zubair stabbed 40 times and beheaded in New York by her estranged husband for filing for divorce.
2011 19 year old Nona Narges Yazdanpanah shot to death by her father for dating a non-Muslim.
2011 Kingston, Ontario Zainab, 19, Sahar, 17, and Geeti, 13 killed by their father because his daughters had "brought shame on the family".
2012 16 year old Lidya Majeed had her throat slit by her father for having pictures of Hollywood actors on her cell phone.
2012, Mission Texas, 20-year-old daughter of Talal Nimer El-Haj, her non Muslim boyfriend and mother were shot, but survived, by her father when the boyfriend moved into the family home after the father had moved out.
2012, Noor Almaleki of Glendale, Arizona had been run over by her own father because he disapproved of the way she dressed, her choice of friends and refused an arranged marriage.

And shall we get into a discussion of forced female genital mutilation?

Or if you prefer, we could talk facial mutilation of women that Muslims are so fond of.

But what was your original point? Were you saying Obama is Muslim? Claiming that 30-40% of the country is Muslim? Just registering your hatred and disapproval for Muslims? Do you believe all Muslims are violent murderers? Do you think Muslims account for all the horrific crimes in this country? Ever heard of the KKK or the white militia? Ever paid a visit to the memorial in Oklahoma City?

Complaint? What complaint. The attention given to the tweets "originated" through the disclosure by a private blog that covers all things Penn State.

If BC was unwilling or reluctant in their role disciplining the player then they're hypocritical fools. If what they were doing was choosing to employ standards both in discipline and for the purpose of guiding future behavior to a higher road, I applaud the punishment.
