WUP Red didn't get to semis last year, but should make it this year, with Blazers. That would leave Seacoast Benfica out, but to their credit, haven't they made it every year u13-u16?

Can we take about how incredibly competitive the group for the 1,3,5,7 seeds are? Knights, Crusaders, Bulldogs, presumably Abbey Villa. There will be some close games this week thats for sure.

Oh yes incredibly competitive, its going to be a great weekend because there is no clear cut favorite. Talking about the other group though, anyone know who this FC Massachusetts team is or where they are from? I havent heard much about them, could they give troubles to Blazers or Benfica or WUP Red?

If that's the group, all 4 could end up 1-1-1. Bulldogs just beat WUP Red. Abbey Villa recently beat Blazers. CU and Knights both beat AV last month by narrow scores, so AV will have payback motivation. The weekend should be very emotional, so help keep it calm.

I believe Blazers have a slight edge, but not much. AV and CU in a goal differential for #2, Bulldogs very competitive but #4. Great group. Put your best referees on this table and let the play decide it.

FC Massachusetts is the old West Side Bandits team (MAPLE DI at U12 or U13), which later played under the VSA banner and then jumped to FC Mass. They are a scrappy team that doesn't really have the personnel to stick with the top teams, but have a strong GK that keeps them in games.

If FC Mass.'s best result is a win over Bayside, it's hard to see them getting a win this weekend. But maybe they could upset the table by managing a draw. The other 3 in their group will be looking at this game to fatten their goal differential.

Blazers are grouped with WUP Red, Seacoast Benfica and FC Mass. Group of death is Abbey Villa (assume they overcome Valeo tonight), Bulldogs, Crusaders United and Knights.

U16 revs would wipe the floor with any of these teams....

We all know that so what's your point is informing us?

Valeo knocks out Abbey Villa on PKs. Maybe Valeo can make noise in group round?

Congratulations to Valeo. All that hype by the AV coach on being one of the top teams and being in Regional play, not once has this team even been to the final 8 RR. Not even this year when all they had to do was play one game to get into the RR.

                          Good job Valeo!

AV was in RR two years ago.

Did they advance past the RR?

Karma...the AV coach pulled players away from other clubs with his promises of fielding a Region 1 premier and state cup competitive team. Once he got them on board, then tells them they are practice players. Way to go, one way to make your team stronger is to make the other teams weaker. LOL
