Hmmmm...started out their Region 1 season with two solid losses. AV is a tie and a loss. Both Mass team start with negative goal differential.

For what gotsoccer's worth, R1 premier should be tough sledding for the MA teams. They rank in the lower half of the north division. Seacoast Benfica is off to a good start in the lower R1 league, WUP Red middling with a win and loss, while Blazers' opener is 2 weeks away. Expect Blazers to comfortably win their division at this level.

Exactly, so if there no one even close to Knights and Knight is struggling at the bottom half of R1 than what does that say about Massachusetts soccer ??

Maybe it says the best players in Mass play DAP?

Maybe, although the 96 Bolts have a losing record against the NY-NJ teams, too. Clubs in more populated areas have an advantage, whether DAP or non-DAP. More broadly, that's what's behind school-based athletics having competition categories based on school population.

In Region I Premier League yesterday, Knights won and tied, Abbey Villa lost twice.

                      Here we go:
This weekend, it's Explosion at FC Massachusetts. Favor Explosion because they reached State Cup quarters 2 years ago (don't know how mch they've changed since then).

                      The following weekend, it's
Vikings at Bulldogs. Favor Bulldogs, who have a new striker
MPS Crusaders at WUP White. Favor WUP White, also because they have reached State Cup quarters in past seasons
Bulldogs Select at Fuller Hamlets. Favor Fuller Hamlets, as Bulldogs' second teams rarely win in State Cup
Valeo at VSA. Favor Valeo, first season for VSA?

Explosion list a few players. Brand new team from a couple years ago. KR to Bolts, CD to Abbey Villa. Not sure where the others went but a huge exodus

Wow. Just saw the score for Region 1 Premier. AV lost one of their games 1 - 5. Does that happen at such high level of play? So lopsided?

Yes, it does. Someone even took a quick survey of scores in the various leagues in which Mass. clubs play, and scores like this were not statistically more or less prevalent in any league. Plus, the score is often not telling. You really have to be at a game to see how even the play was, know whether a team was missing players or played a man up or down, etc. Without seeing this match, that Gauchos team is one of the top teams in NJ, and has been for a couple years. AV was really in form last April when they won the Northeast league, but that may be their level.
