Stars Blue also tied SSS and lost 3-2 to SUSA. They are definitely competitive.

      Agree
      1-SSS
      2-Stars Blue
      -big gap-

9-0? Best 2011 team in the state is hilarious.

          Here is the true ranking

          1 - SSS

Then the rest. Stars and NEFC have not even completed their ECNL and GA rosters yet, that will happen sometime in the spring. NE Surf and Juve are good teams but will lose players by end of Spring to ECNL and GA which will make them weaker. SSS has topped out, they will only possibly add 1 more high end player, then possibly start to lose players to ECNL. Scorpions will get stronger, just not sure if the top talent in Mass trusts the current directors to send their kids there. Hold off on the top team debate until these teams actually transition to 11v11 and the rosters are set.

Stars and SSS look competitive based on how their game at Stars went. NEFC maybe a bit less so. Don’t really see how Surf and Juve would match up with any of them.

All these teams having been testing their 11v11 lineups already. it isn’t exactly the same as at 9v9 but not that different either.

9v9 and 11v11 are quite different. If you need proof, look at the 2010 Stars White team. 9v9 studs, but average at 11v11. The extra 2 players and added real estate can change how a team looks and plays.

Surf coach, the conversation isn't going your way?

Just like all small clubs with no National pathway, Surf will show off a few good local players at each birth year. The teams build a solid kickball plan around these few players. These players get tired of carrying the team and smart parents move them to actual clubs with real coaches. Those players may end up making a regional team but usually not National as they wasted the important years 9-12 with poor coaching and no solid development. Sadly they do leave those small clubs as stars, but land spots on 3rd - 5th teams as bench warmers.

I’m saying these particular 2011 teams have been playing 11v11 already, and so far they don’t look all that different (not worse or better) than when they play 9v9.

True but over stated. If a top player leaves around U11-12 they will be just fine. Every year afterwards will be tougher and tougher.

Not a SSS parent, but my kid has played against both SSS and Surf over the last year. SSS would destroy Surf. NEFC would likely beat Surf.

SSS 2011 is an impressive group, that is well coached re well coached and play as a unit. Strong press and shifting to cover not overly reliant on any single player. If they manage to stick together and not get picked/woo'd away they will be the group to beat.

Surf plays through one kid, and she is very good, rest of the squad is good enough that many would easily be starting at other clubs but don't stand out as much. Their size & physicallity gives them a leg up on a lot of clubs at this age.

Biggest understatement ever uttered on this forum.

NE Surf Navy. All other answers are wrong. Select & NEFC can’t hide from this team much longer.
