This was pretty awful! The quality of teams/refs/facilities/ and all of the above could not have been any worse! To go head to head with NEFC was complete ignorance and plain damn stupid by Aztec. Another club coach here and we will never play in such a shambolic event again!

Also, please share your club. Someone bold enough to bash another club should be man enough to name the club he coaches for.

When you show up early to deal with parking issues and still have issues getting to game you remember that your team is paying for this experience. Then show up and no refs. It’s A symptom of what Memorial day will be …too many tourneys…not enough refs or fields. Can these dumb clubs just kiss and makeup get us all back into only one tourney a weekend for the club soccer scene.

Curious what was wrong with the facility. It’s brand new.

Whatever clubs use that facility for tournaments moving forward will likely have issues.

The parking situation there is an absolute fiasco. Based on an email sent to team managers and then forwarded to parents, the facility didn’t tell Stars that they were running additional events indoors at the same time as the tournament. They provided shuttle busses, but not close to enough (and only let the club know of this the day that it was happening—not in advance). My kid’s team typically arrives an hour before game time. Between the traffic to get within a half mile of the facility and then some opting to wait for the shuttle, kids were there 45 minutes after they planned. Most just opted to walk the half mile up to the fields and parents dropped them off (couldn’t do this with young kids, though).

I know someone who was at both and said the difference was night and day. However the above poster seems to have had a different experience so perhaps it depends on the time of day you arrived.
I thought the fields themselves were nice so I hope they work it out. Seems they built a facility too large for their parking lot!
