Probably because the “science” continues to change. Non-science people don’t understand the fluidity of a situation and become impatient with new recommendations as information becomes available. That said…CDC has made it very hard to trust them and the roll out of mandates and recommendations is disastrous at best. Don’t cancel Florida, not sure how thats protecting people? We just had multiple New Years events that are potentially more dangerous than any airline or hotel trip

Over 8000 flights cancelled since Saturday. Hospital rates and Covid cases surging and yes I agree this variant is less deadly. Weather travel issues. Just isn’t the time to hold a soccer tournament where many people might not be able to make it and many more might get stuck there.

Agree. Plus.. why do ECNL players need to be seen. They get handed D1 roster spots because they are in ECNL, I’m surprised coaches even bother to show up

I get the sarcasm but coaches showing up is important in this decision. I sure hope any coaches not going remove themselves from the list because if the coaches you are interested in are not going, it makes no sense for those players to go.

We’ve done just that. All ten schools she has been in contact with have got back as of yesterday confirming they are still going.

The league needs to give some communication today. Promote the event like they normally would be doing by this point or explain what is going on. How are they not addressing this? There is massive chatter and confusion out here.

Dear Someone with three shots and still got it -

this is exactly one of the reasons why it should be cancelled. If it is that contagious, lots of people could get stuck in FL and many more will be sick upon their return to work and school.
