    The Economy

It's gotta be painful for the MPS parents right now, they are both a) struggling because their investments tanked in the Bush economy and b) not looking forward to when they have write their tax checks to uncle sam in the Obama economy. How are they going to be able to afford to pay MPS to rank their sons and daughters in the top 1% of all youth soccer players?

We're fine and will be going forward, appreciate the concern.

Precisely, a new years resolution to be more idiotic than 2008.

I am not an MPSCrusaders parent but I just spoke with one. I asked about the fees being high. He said it was $3K for the year not including tournaments. They did get uniforms(nice stuff) and basic equipment. They also had to attend a camp at extra cost. They do train a lot! At least 3 times per week.

After all that I asked how he and the child liked it. They love it and would not leave. She is a former Maple player for a smaller club but there are kids on her squad from bigger clubs and they all echo the sentiments.

Again, I am a U15 Maple parent and have no ties to MPS, but they must be doing something right. If they get more kids to play soccer and be happy with it great!!

The 3K (if that much) includes the camp.

Again, we're fine. We're not worried so you shouldn't be either.

$3000 but it includes the camp? Im not knocking on MPS but that is still a very high number. My child plays for Scorpions and we pay $1300 which also includes a week long camp, as well as entry fees to four outdoor tournaments. Scorpions also trains at one of the premier facilities in the state. MPS jumps around because they have many players. We share a facility with them two nights per week.

Scorpions trains at one of the premier facilities and MPS jumps around yet still manages to share that same premier facility with you 2 nights per week?

Have a point, make it and stop talking otherwise you make yourself sound foolish.

Everyone knows what MPS, Scorpions and whoever charges and obviously no one cares.

i just went to look at both websites mainly at coaches ... the depth and quality seems uncomparible.. (at a glance)scorps have maybe 2 guys with any D1 or higher level type experience where MPS has mostly European trained guys vrs town or high school coaches "gym" teachers... what am i missing? shouldnt that be considered in cost? how do other clubs stack up.. i dont want my kid taught by a guy who cant kick a ball himself and for my money I want the highest level exposed guy.. no? my kid is 8 and I dont know what kind of player he be but I want to make sure he is the best HE can become..
isnt that trhough coaches? any non bias bloggers?

                              Re: The Economy

Scorpions coaches do not get paid like MPS coaches so they need to have other jobs. My child has played for many ocahes through town and club level soccer. She has been coached by both division one college players and for coaches who have played at lower levels but have a wealth of coaching knowledge. There are many, many coaches out there who have played at high levels who have no clue how to coach or teach the game. At the younger levels coaches need to teach. I am not saying this is not happening at MPS and I never once put them down. I just was amused by the comment that the $3000 covered a camp. That argument for the cost was amusing to me.
