The Bolts hid DF's illegal status... An interesting point here - a lot of clubs know about the age issue for particular players but they don't make an issue of it because they have their own skeletons in the closet. So, the situation is as it is due to a certain amount of collusion among the clubs.

What are you talking about? DF did not play in the DAP for Bolts. Noone was hiding his status when he was younger either. He was able to make the national pool teams, but coulde never play for our national team for that reason. No one was saying he was younger than he actually was.

Are you kidding me? Unless you lived under a rock, Everybody knew
what his status was. Nice red herring! The issue is clubs knowingly
using overage players and not being called to task.

I find it interesting that people always bring up this issue about birth certificates and such. You identify that "something is wrong" and complain, however have no solutions.

Can we agree that these players have birth certificates? I understand that many of the birth certificates were not generated in the United States, however they have legal documentation of an actual date of birth.

So what is your solution besides writing and stating how unfair it is to have "men" playing against boys?

For many of these players, IF the document is in error, do people actually think this was a conspiracy and effort that would allow the player to dominate in sports?

Right - no one is questioning his age. But the illegal status was hidden - he could be deported you idiot. The Revs must have remedied this, since its out in the open now.

I have the same problem.....I am in my 50s but playing in the Over 40 league. I am taking full advantage of those younger, slower, and less experienced players......

I would not wind it down yet -

Looks like the Northeast division's second spot may be about to be settled for the 18s as Empire is in and Seacoast is out, and this is the weekend for South Central and Oakwood to come to town. The Connecticut teams have 11 points on 8 games played so can only reach 17 points - well within reach of both local sides, who each have 4 games left. Bolts need to have had their graduation breather and snap out of their funk, while the Revs need to continue their recent form...

Standings are even tighter for the 16s, where the battle for first is on in earnest, FCGB and NER can both win it, or Oakwood could put it out of reach for either, and Seacoast can still back in to the second playoff spot.

Good luck to all the locals!

Can you imagine the significance of the Globe starting to carry DAP results/activities? This would soon to be followed by non DAP club results.
That will be the end of any impact that high school might have on kids playing ball in college.

ha - neither the globe nor the herald consider soccer worthy of anything more than a weekly mention buried in the sports section. what a bummer - i for one would love to read more soccer (not dap, etc...) than that.

If Revs & Bolts 18s finish their seasons with wins they would take the top two spots. First, both teams need to take care of business with the hard-nosed CT teams. If that happens, then next weekend will be wide open in Epping & Syracuse.

                                Revs 18s beat Oakwood today.
Anyone have scores of the three other local games?
