Unless you are a gay male, those aren't going to be the type of responses to Beckham's shot. Morgan let herself be portrayed as a sex object in magazine with a predominantly male readership. That's not the opinion of a male chauvinist. That's the opinion of a
female feminist.

As far as Beckham's underwear commercial, how many women are going out to buy that brand of underwear because Beckham is wearing it?

It is a well known theory in advertising (at least it was when I was in B School) that mens clothing ads should always be adressed to women.

The diffence between Blatter and Morgan is that Blatter is a man trying to dictate what many women need to do. Morgan is a woman who decided what she wants to do.
Very big difference.

No, this was the thoughts of males at SI and as a friend of mine pointed out, when you and I were kids the adolesent boys couldn't wait for the swimsuit edition. Thanks to the internet, today's boys have access to a whole lot more than hot babes in a swimsuit. SI has to compete with that fact.
Alex Morgan is a professional athlete with (I would assume) a qualified management team of her choosing. Their job is to filter the promotional and endorsement opportunities that are made available to her and present her with those that are in her best interest. These advisors, who she pays, presented this idea to her and she, of her own free will decided to do the shoot.

At first I thought this thread was going to be interesting - something about how Alex Morgan once again came through in the clutch for the WNT:
http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Womens-...w-Zealand.aspx
Can we talk instead about whether Pia will stick to the 4-2-3-1 formation that puts Cheney in a central playmaking position but keeps Morgan on the bench? http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/27/sp...-olympics.html
Or will Pia switch back to a 4-4-2 that starts Morgan? How can she not start Morgan? Will she put Cheney on the bench again as she did during the regional qualifying tournament? It could happen, no matter that she was a World Cup all-star and the team's best player outside of Wambach and Solo. And what happens with the brilliant Sydney Leroux?

http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/sto...-jeff-carlisle
Was it wise for Pia to switch Stanford goal-scoring machine and Hermann Trophy winner Kelley O'Hara from forward to fullback? Has Tobin Heath's time come at last?
Is Pia really such an improvement over previous coaches, or have we invented her?
C'mon, people - give me a reason to keep coming back to this site!
