Originally posted by Unregistered View PostNewton's town program sells its affiliation with MPS on leading up to high school success. At $1275/kid that's a lot of money for a program that produced 4 losing records this fall
(South boys 3-9-1, North boys 3-12-2, South girls 4-11-3, North girls 1-10-3):
Why is the Metro-Boston Renegades or SOE Program Being Offered?
The Metro Boston Renegades program is being offered to provide a better alternative to club programs, which are often found by many players and parents to be inconvenient, focused more on winning than player development, and providing uneven coaching and competition. The Newton-based Renegades, or Metro-Boston SOE program, recognizes that some players who participate in NGS’ travel program want an additional development experience, supplemental to that they receive from their NGS team, but would like the convenience of training in Newton along with coordination between their NGS coach and Renegades/SOE coach. With a focus on player development, the Renegades or Metro-Boston SOE teams are an excellent feeder to Newton's high school programs.

Lots more MPS trained players up and coming for Newton HS teams? Good news for the competition!

Just think of the college scouts will be following Newton because of all of the MPS players they have.

The Newton soccer programs were far stronger before MPS came to town. It's scary to think that Newton really used to be one of the top soccer communities, particularly on the girls side, then they buy into the MPS idea and now they are an also ran! Do you think they include all this in their literature?

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostHate to tell you all, but there are less than half a dozen MPS players on each of the Newton High Schools and only one of those on each team is an MPS Renegades premier team player. Each of the teams have about 4 Inter Bandits girls each, all Juniors. All the seniors on each team are not club players at all. Most of the girls who have been trained by MPS on these teams are freshmen and sophomores. Finally most of the top Newton players are at Private Schools, including BB&N, Milton, Rivers and others.
Totally wrong.
