The fact is that the poorer teams in the conference are loaded with MPS players.

really ? Newton is very happy with the help of MPS in our town. The MPS SOE players are just now sophomores and freshman. I know the future looks good for South boys & girls. I think most of the SOE program players are at South.

Newton's town program sells its affiliation with MPS on leading up to high school success. At $1275/kid that's a lot of money for a program that produced 4 losing records this fall
(South boys 3-9-1, North boys 3-12-2, South girls 4-11-3, North girls 1-10-3):
Why is the Metro-Boston Renegades or SOE Program Being Offered?
The Metro Boston Renegades program is being offered to provide a better alternative to club programs, which are often found by many players and parents to be inconvenient, focused more on winning than player development, and providing uneven coaching and competition. The Newton-based Renegades, or Metro-Boston SOE program, recognizes that some players who participate in NGS’ travel program want an additional development experience, supplemental to that they receive from their NGS team, but would like the convenience of training in Newton along with coordination between their NGS coach and Renegades/SOE coach. With a focus on player development, the Renegades or Metro-Boston SOE teams are an excellent feeder to Newton's high school programs.
