If the Stars are placing their ECNL teams into NEP that means only one thing, that they want back into the State Cup. So much for all the ECNL Koolaide that State Cups were meaningless, or that R1 scheduling was too big of an issue to overcome, or that the ECNL didn't need any other venue to showcase their players. The Stars bailing on their ECNL rhetoric should raise warning flags that all is not well with that league. Hold on to your wallets and get prepared for a whole new sales spin as they try to reposition themselves on top of the R1 path. I can't wait.

My daughter plays U-17. I noticed that the teams are the same for the Spring in Maple. It's pretty damn good soccer. Two of the squads went to the state cup semi-finals, North Shore and Shooting Stars. A few others are pretty solid squads too: Aztecs, Crusaders, and Berkshire. There are a couple of new teams that have been around for a while, who should be competitive. We will not go to Maine on a Wednesday. My daughter's team has a couple of commits to D1 - A few other kids have bites... Keep the NEP and chuck it, as far as I care Maple soccer has been awesome. And I will be really bummed when it's over.

Thought Aztecs was moving to the NEP?

Last years Stars B teams GU14 & GU 15 went undefeated in Maple D1.

Stars Athletic Under 13 team just won MAPLE division 1 this past Fall, winning all 9 games.

What the folks in Maple don't understand is why the most influential people in MA. all flocked to this league. And yes Stars,Scorps,MPS,Aztecs,Bolts, Western United and NEFC are the major players in MA whether you accept it or not. The only ones missing are the Blazers and they will be in NEP soon. These DOC's are behind the scenes working on more ways to better their players. By this time next year MAPLE club will realize that they have been left behind. These clubs don't care about league results when there focus is state cup, tournaments, ECNL and Region 1. They have created a league in which teams can grow and stay together. There is promotion relegation and it's done by the clubs. You will see teams from the championship division in the premiership this spring. You will also see player identification and a national competition for NEP's top teams. The rest of the country is doing the same thing and all Maple had to was keep up with the times. Instead they accept a paycheck from everyone and these clubs had enough. Below is are the 6 leagues started around the country and the NEP will represent New England. Talk to your DOC's but I'm sure most Maple clubs don't have one. If they do he's or she is probably someone who just coaches a bunch of teams.

The lack of constant quality teams across the nep divisions and the travel to NH and ME to play lack luster GPS teams have soured the clubs desire to play in nep. Is this coming from a Stars DOC or a parent? If Stars play R1, ENCL, etc. then they travel outside of MA. Having a hard time believing your statements. Maybe true that the Stars don't want or need NEP but your statement above seems a little shakey.

Maple is playing games with you my friend. All of those NEP teams are not playing Maple. They haven't removed NEP teams yet. It's an illusion!

You maple folks are so in the dark it's scary! NEP meeting was 2 weeks ago and brackets were selected. Maple has our club up and we told them in September we were moving.

You are right!! Those were the teams that stayed in Maple to win a championship!! Nothing like a good ole championship (with trophies) for confidence!!

At the time the United team was put in Maple they were the B team, the Athletic team was the State champ and the A team!
