Question for you. So here is a great player with bad habits. My theory is he learned these habits as the star of his U10 rec team. No need to pass when you can just take it in solo for the score. You have seen him far more. What is your comment?

I do not like to call out other coaches or systems, especially when it is a teenager involved. But since you asked, I think bad habits develop when the player is 4-14. MS is not a bad passer, he plays a great ball. I think both NHS and the Bolts have played to his strong points while neglecting to have him improve on the aspects of the game that he needs to keep improving and get to the next level.
But then again, what do I know? He is an all-american after all

He may have been gone, it seems he is back, he was working with the 97 Pre DAP group last week.

Yeah - this is correct. The thing is, and the way the bolts operate is, it will be good enough and nobody is going to worry about it beyond that, nobody is going to figure out how to put them together into a great team. They're going to throw them together, see who's productive, dole out the playtime accordingly and win some/lose some. That's the bolts - haven't you noticed?

What's with these other DPs - I understand how a few high school stars can be overlooked and allowed in this first year of 10 month, but it seems the bolts are letting almost anyone who skipped out this Fall slime their way back in. Anyway, the kids who made the sacrifice (a pretty big one for the pair from Needham) need to have a thick skin to stick with DAP, so nobody should complain (I guess)....
I know those 2 Needham guys who chose to play DAP. They are not looking back. They supported their HS pals and went to the HS games to watch. They are key parts of the U16 DAP team that is now doing well since their injured starters are all back. MS had some other things to draw him to play HS this fall - he was about to break a major scoring record, he was a senior (the other Needham guys are juniors), he had a clear chance to be an All -american, and his father is one of the NHS coaches.

there is an enormous difference in being able to score at a high school game and a DAP game. and for the record, MS is one of the laziest players I've ever laid eyes on. He will need to learn more than a new kind of game to do well at the collegiate level - he'll need to learn how to work hard. i think his ability to do that is questionable.

It will be interesting to watch the coaches philosophy,
does he stay small and quick, or will he have the big
target man up top only time will tell!!

Envy is so unbecoming....HS championship games are probably the highest pressure situations players ever play in....We will see in the next few years if you are correct...

The Revs would welcome him with open arms. MS has been a Bolt player since U10 and there he has stayed. Although he might, at times, seem a little arrogant, if anyone has seen the postseason this fall, all would agree that he made the games happen and the goal against Amherst was as energetic as any this season.

Good luck with that comment. Rev's tried to recruit half of the current U16 DAP team and got no one to bite. Don't let that uniform fool you, you are no better than bolts, just more arrogant.

Well, they are free (true, Foxboro may be too far for many players/ parents). How generous are Bolts with $ aid?

Yeah, at this point there are 6 Bolts with college verbals for 2013 and 1 Rev, and it's Dec. By this point the Div1's are just collecting depth players with likely no $$$.

Revs have more players who are not 'college material' than the bolts. the DA environment is overall at odds with staying focused on school, but the Revs, with their focus on being a pro, take the problem a step further.
