I live in a neighboring state where waivers are granted to allow foreign born kids to play school sports as 19 year old juniors. That is the age my son will be when he starts his junior year in college. By your logic, why separate college and high sports? Wouldn't it be fun to watch Latin Academy's football team play LSU instead of Nantucket?
Again, if it was that major a difference in regards to high school soccer, then why are schools allowing some 7th and 8th graders to play on their varsity teams? The original argument posed was the ages of some of the Worcester North are in question, but yet they lost to Ludlowe. Age matters less the older one gets, even on a soccer field. It is an excuse (within reason, not in an LSU vs High school example) when athletes of slight age difference lose, especially by their parents.

I cannot think of an example where a 12-13 year BOY played varsity soccer. Can anyone name one in recent memory?

Any 12 year old that has played club soccer starts from day 1. Or should.

Lots of boys at regional schools (particularly in central and western mass) play on varsity squads as 7th and 8th graders. Some even start.

Dems are indeed almost as bad as the "don't tax my billions!" 1 % Republican'ts. Most people (92%) don't trust any of these dirtbag politicians. The Rcan'ts only appeal to those beyond their 1% wealth is racism, xenophobia, homophobia, etc. but you whackjobs are less than 5% vs. half the country supporting the OWS kids. That's x 10. Think about it.

last i checked polls only 33% still supported OWS, and still dropping. That means 66% of the 99% don't support them. Still want to play numbers?

so do you agree with the MIAA rule or not? That is the real question, you thoughts on different ages playing each means nothing if those ages are not eligible under the rules, understand? Stop making excuses to allow overage players to play in an organization that caps the age, you don't get to decide they do.

Douglas, Sutton, and Holy Name are 3 that come to mind. If I'm not mistaken, NP who plays at BU (mens) played on varsity in jr high in Douglas and the girls state scoring record is/was held by RB, a former Hamlet/Stars player, also from Douglas who played varsity in junior high. She broke the record of a Sutton player who had played varsity in jr high. There is currently an 8th grade girl playing varsity for HN who made the team in 7th grade. There are probably lots of others, but those are who I can think of at the moment.

Douglas hasnt had a BOys player since NP play varsity as a 7th grader. NO 7th graders are even allowed to play JV now. There have been some 8th graders "called" upto varsity this season, but no 8th grader has made varsity.

The player that scored both goals in final and the one in semis is a 19 year old junior who has repeated two grades in his educational life.

MIAA rule allows kids who are in 7th and 8th grade, who are housed in the same building and have the same principal/administrators as the high school, to try out for JV anf Varsity teams. Some schools choose not to allow 7th grade players to try out, but for the majority of small schools. this is not uncommon. If you have fewer kids to choose form, why not take a 7th or 8th grade kid who is talented enough to play. Field your strongest team.
