Thank god for the Westfield police showing up quickly in about 10 cruisers to stop what could have been alot of violence. Sore losers go home they werent that good anyway and had they hit on the dozen or so chances they had instead of kicking the ball over, right and left of the net maybe they would be in the final.
WHAT!?! You have got to be kidding....

Let's move on. Masconomet vs Ludlow. Seems like a good match up. When is the last time Masco made it to the dance? Ludlow is the dance instructor.

Ludlow wins in a laugher. 3-0, minimum.

To me the bigger story is both semi's being cut short. One due to 5 yellow cards, the other due to a fracas on the field.

How does the MIAA ignore that?

From what I've seen of college officiating, it is more consistent and the officials almost always maintain control of the game. HS is far more variable. Not sure what options the MIAA has though. A lot of HS games, often during working hours.

Sorry but the working hours excuse just does not even fly anymore. The games started at 7 PM last night. Not many college games going on at all (in the NCAA playoffs at this point). Absolutely no excuse. Watch the video of the Ludlow/North fracas and please tell me how the Ludlow goalie does not get a card.

Knowing the EMass officials fairly well, there is no Head Referee at this point in the tournament who isn't a college official as well. Cmass and Wmass, don't know.

Keeper for Ludlow seemed to think it was necessary to bounce up from being run into with his feet first, didn't seem necessary. Card could have been given, but the North kid was going to be gone anyway. No pk would have been called because the restart would revert to the original foul, North's. So not sure what a card there would have done; the game was essentially over.

I think the only loser here is you, the poster. There are many video's on line to watch and they clearly show #27 slap a Ludlow player across the face! It was right after the goalie incident. I don't think striking back is the answer but I have to say when the Ludlow goalie was clearly thrown to the ground for no reason other anger from a poor loser and frustration for all of his great saves he had made I too would have kicked back. It was a quick reaction to defend himself and push the player away..

Just watched that video and it was #22 who slapped the Ludlow player right across the face. Also, looks like the goalie kicked back after getting tackled to the ground pushing the player away from him and Ludlow goalie jumps up to his feet.

Sorry, third party here but you are wrong. Was there contact? Yes. Was it card worthy? Absolutely not. Did the goalie who a) kicked at the player's face and b.) taunted him afterwards desrve a card. A BIG YES!!!!!!!!

Not sure what you are watching but it was more than contact. Maybe they both should have gotten a card but the fight broke out AFTER player #22 slapped Ludlow player #27 in the face and then another Ludlow player was thrown to the ground. There are many videos available to see this. WGGB has the coverage of the slap and the Ludlow player being thrown to the ground. The bottom line is Ludlow won and the game got out of hand after a Ludlow player was slapped and another player was thrown to the ground. Bottom line.
