knows much about the game ,not much about social skills . she sounds more like a coach ....

Sicko parents aside, I'm still stuck on the fact that when this same girl played against NEFC last year, the NEFC parents complained about her style of play. Now this kid is a saint. I doubt it.

Was it wrong for the paren to act this way, absolutely...but lets not cannonize this girl. It doesn't mean she deserved to get a broken leg, but lets keep it real when it comes to her style of play.

I have to congratulate the initial poster. She got what she wanted...to bash Stars West...and you all are like jackles just standing on the sidelines waiting to attack.

There are crazy parents on every team so don't get all high and mightly.

I hear the new release of angry birds is going to be titled "mightly jackles".
Not as intellectually rigorous as the first release.
            Should be awesome!

Other players learned quickly that she had sharp elbows. ACL's and ankles? Off limits. Knock the wind out of them? Elbow to the chin or solar plexus or knock them on their can shoulder to shoulder. After a season she had learned how to get respect and space on the field. Soccer is a tough game. If you or your kid can't handle it try badminton but do remember that the shuttlecock reaches speeds in excess of 100 MPH.
Honestly you are part of the the problem. A flying elbow that misses the chest and hits someone in the face is a headhunting move and not a part of the game. Its too hard for 11-18 year olds to control their emotions in the heat of the game and you gave your kid permission to headhunt. Nice move...

The guy is telling his 11 year old its OK to do that, obviously he is out of line. Hope his 11 year old has more class and common sense than her Dad.

I agree. Push back is fine but this sounds like mr macho "don't mess with me or mine" dad doing his thing. Definitely a huge part of the problem. If you have skill and speed, your need for elbows will be minimal. And hurting people to win can be habit forming, especially if your machohead dad is cheering you on on the sidelines and praising your nastiness as wonderful assrtiveness in the car ride home. These are kids. Be the dad, not the _ickhead.

Which is why I think it is very important to have the record straight with this player. Years ago our town team had a hockey dad who would routinely shout out "Get Some" to his daughter. When she heard that she would literally turn around and hockey check the nearest player. She was a head hunter. It was disgusting. I finally had enough and dealt with the guy but not before every team we played had all but put a bounty out on our kids. That team developed an awful reputation because of those two and you would not believe the things opposing teams did to our kids as a result, nor what the parents screamed at all of us. It was downright dangerous and not a whole lot of fun. This is not the same time of situation though and it is really not cool for the West parents to paint what happened in this situation as anything remotely similar.
True story. The A/B parents were the worst. One of their players had gotten hurt when we played in the fall. That player was pretty skilled but had gotten hurt on the same type of hustle play as we have here. Our reputation allowed it to get painted as something else though. When the spring season came around, the head hunter was no longer on the team but that didn't change anything. They A/B parents actually had their kids so worked up to play against us it was almost unreal. They wanted venglence. As I remember it when one of our players went down with a serious injury and they cheered also. I remember hearing comments like "serves you right" and other such nonesense. The sad thing was the girl that got hurt wasn't even on the team in the fall when the problem occurred. Great young athlete who had just moved into town. A cheap slide tackle to her knee took out her acl. No matter what you think the club politics may be here, you don't want to give traction to the type of story that was being floated here. Especially when it is not true because bad things happen. No need to respond. Let's just let this thread die.

She's truly two faced. She will be pleasant or at a minimum cordial to your face, but when you turn your back, trash talk and back stabbing. I hear she is responsible for the downfall of the western team. Wasn't happy with her kid's role on the team, so she slowly poisoned the atmosphere there. She wanted everyone to follow her to a team where her kid's role would be improved. Shame.

And they followed?? If so, the she isn't the only problem on that team's side lines. They may also be suffering from bovine behavior.

You are so right. It is time for those level headed men to step forward and become team managers. When was the last time you saw a dad team manager? Right. You're first in line.

Don't critisize the good families. I don't think they were aware. It's a case of not really finding out till it was to late.
