What shocked me most on this thread was the fact and yes I think most of the u14g dubious and mean spirited posts are coming from Stars West parents was that an actual West parent apologized for one of their parents behavior and said there was no controlling her. Excuse me it is the responsibility of the Coach and Club and team manager to control an inappropriate, out of control parent period. They are warned and then they are asked to leave the TEAM if they fail to change behavior. No excuses. The team manager should be sitting next to this nut. If she is the team manager she goes- poor example set for the team and club.
My daughters coach would have kicked her from the team with one heckle. Mom and daughter would be gone. Maybe Mom needs to know there are concequences to her behavior other than an after the fact apol.
Shameful to all involved and esp. team parents who think they are helpless to a bully. Sounds like HS all over again and being played out in front of your daughters.

Typical Stars response. "Off with their heads. We have plenty more where she came from." This mom may have been a total jerk that day but why is it necessary to send the kid packing? I laugh when I listen to Stars parents talk about these sorts of issues because the club actually does manage the parents with threats like this. They will send you and your child packing if they deem you to be a problem. Most of the parents end up being terrified that big brother will over hear them say something. You can't even talk to a coach never mind express an opinion in that club. That is unless you make the national team. Then you can so or do what ever the heck you want.

Funny but a Stars mother suggested to one of our parents they could settle something in the parking lot. Class organization.

I was at Jefferson Cup a few yrs. ago and a parent on the opp. team was hooting and a hollering negatively at our girls as individuals. Heard their TM come up to her and remind her of the code of conduct she had signed or else the coach would be notified. Thought it was well handled and effective. Consequences obviously.

West west west west always all about west. Sounds like a huge lack of leadership from both coach and parents.
I vote kick them out.

First you sayOriginally posted by Unregistered View PostIn our club, the parents aren't seen as the enemy. The thing is with a parent is like that they normally ruin the player in the car or at the kitchen table and the kid ends up getting cut when they fail to keep pace.
