So regarding the much discussed EMass All-American designees, the player at UPenn from Concord-Carlisle does not appear on the roster, and the other player from Canton is having a very strong frosh season at D3 WPI.

It's pretty obvious, no? Either the designations are way off the mark, or the quality of players in MA is really low. We are talking about a designation that is awarded to no more than 3-4 kids of each gender in the whole state, including the ISLs.

Just remember any All Star team/designation is a "beauty contest", and only pertains, in this case, to high school, which is no guarantee of any college athletic success. As with any All Star team there are many who could be considered, yet only a few are chosen, thus congratulations to those who were chosen. High school is high school and college is college, and just because you had success in one doesn't guarantee the player they will have success at the next level, nor does someone who isn't designated as All- American HS player or who doesn't make All State, they certainly can achieve much success in college. Every year is a new year and what a player did last year doesn't count for much the following year. Congratulations to those players who have received such distinguished HS Accolades (All American, All State....), good luck in the future and hopefully you will enjoy your college experience whether you play soccer or not.

Just thought I'd bump the 2012 list up so that it doesn't vanish. Note the analysis of the playing time.

Bumping this up like the 2011 list. It seems like the 2010 list has vanished. Will analyze how the kids do in the fall. As of last year, only 10 D1's had played a lot. We'll see how this year goes. I'll also try and analyze the 2010 D1's because by now it's a small list anyway.
