You get just a handful of top players that opt out of DAP for personal reasons from 95s - 93s. I can think of a few 93s and 94s that could play DAP, but don't. Can't think of any 95s that don't. The 96s and 97s are being sorted out now. Just because a player is a stud on their high school team doesn't guarantee that they can play at the speed of DAP.
How do you think these proportions will change in fall 2012, when the kids have to choose between DAP and school?

Truth of the matter is that other than a handfull of impactful players, let's say for debates sake 6 in the state, and split them 3 on Revs and 3 on Bolts, you could replace every other DAP player on both the Revs and bolts DAP rosters with similar top players from other Mass Club teams playing in MAPLE, Region 1 or NEP and get similar players. Yes, the top of the top (the handfull) in the State likely/probably play DAP, however the best of the rest are populated throughout many teams. If you don't believe this look at how the DAP rosters change dramatically during the 4 years of DAP, and then there are those top players who do opt out of DAP for many reasons.

I don't know why we continue to argue this point.

Put AW and NPL of MPS together on a team with BY, JO and CL from NEFC, fill in the rest with players from each team and you'll see a very good game against either Bolts or Revs. I know some of these players are seniors, however will not be surprised if players from each of these teams are playing DAP next year.

Agree or diasagree, in the end what does it mean or matter?

Why would they leave their teams at this point? Most have probably played for their high school and why miss that senior year just for one year of DAP? Would playing DAP for that one year make any measurable difference?

I agree that commitments for these players would likely be completed. AW and NPL are seniors and will be in college. However, where would the others find the best competition, especially considering U18 is pretty low key and with sparse attendence at both practices, games and even state cup.

Look at the U18 rosters over the past couple years and you will see players that have been placed on roster for their final year.

I want to understand your last sentence. Are you saying there are kids who join DAP just for their senior year? I am not asking because I don't believe, just seeking to understand. And, if this is what you are stating is it because non-DAP teams become less competitive and maybe less commited at u18? Again, not looking to touch off the DAP v non-DAP war, just seeking to understand.

Take a look at last year's rosters. Lots of kids join DAP for just senior year for the exposure to college coaches (or, in some cases, at the request of a future college coach). Interestingly, several of these kids made an impact in just one year of play.

Yeah, my kid did that. The academics last half of your senior year aren't so demanding, especially if you are already college accepted, and the coaches allowed some fall/winter HS sports. We'll see about this year with the new rules.

This could be a different year with the no high school issue. Most players that joined or tried out for DAP only at U18 had the option to still play thier senior years of HS. That's not the case this year and could make a difference. In addition, if a college coach wants to see a senior play DAP, it would seem to me the player must first make the team. Not a freebe.

If the player is good enough, then the DAP coach will find a way to get him on the roster.

If you are referring to AOW he is just a junior at RL. NPL is a senior.
