Only so many of them out there, like lefty baseball pitchers, if you find a three good ones then you're all set on the left side, LB, LM, LF. If you can't find three, then two, if not two, then one....

It is probably not a good thing if a coach can determine a dominant foot. It is far better to be able to use both feet well and leave them guessing . . .

Every player has a preferred or dominant foot....yes you should be able to use either in any situation, but everyone has one that is better/more comfortable than the other. If you are a lefty sniper and a very good player then you will have significant interest by the coaching community....just the facts.

That's true. However, a left sniper means the kid is confident with his left and probably practices that shot more than on his right. A lefty sniper is useless against a good back that will overplay the kid with the strong left. Seen it a million times. The left footed kid keeps taking touches to the left to get space until eventually he runs into the corner flag or dribbles off the end line.

And yes, most DAP players can shoot well with both feet where it is difficult to tell which is their dominant foot. I guess the goal is to balance the practice on both feet so that you feel comfortable with either foot right?

Sorry, but the most skilled players are at the DAP. If you lined up the top 25 players in each age year starting with 96s - 93s, 20 of the top 25 would be with DAP for each year (and probably 9 of the top 10). You get just a handful of top players that opt out of DAP for personal reasons from 95s - 93s. I can think of a few 93s and 94s that could play DAP, but don't. Can't think of any 95s that don't. The 96s and 97s are being sorted out now. Just because a player is a stud on their high school team doesn't guarantee that they can play at the speed of DAP.
