Those "low-seeded opponents" that Peabody faced on their lousy field, WA & CC, were probably tougher opponents than some of the higher-seeded teams would've been.

Switching referees at halftime would indicate there was some sort of injury to the Referee; there is no fourth official at these games.

No MIAA person or referee supervisor would approve of that otherwise. They don't hover around and issue edicts like that.

I saw Westford play a couple games on turf and they actually play a nice possession game for a high school team. They spread the field and pass well. It would 've been a different game if they didn't play on Peabody's tiny, grass field. Not sure about Concord though. I never saw them play during the regular season, but I know their home field is turf. I've also seen Peabody play quite a few times this season and they looked absolutely lost on the large turf field at Manning.

Peabody did not play well at all on Friday. If they play that way again today, their season will likely be over. If it wasn't for a unfair red card, A-B would be playing today. They were the best team of the four teams that played on Friday.

Wasn't disputing the field issue; it definitely was to their advantage playing first two at home. Just took issue with the poster saying that by playing on said small field, Peabody got easy draws against "low seeds" as if that was their master plan. I don't think they would've chosen to play the three teams they have played so far if it was up to them. Three quality teams.

As Dandy Don Meredith once said, "If ifs & buts were candy & nuts wouldn't it be a Merry Christmas?" I think he also said, "Turn out the lights, the party's over." Stop your whining. If they were the best of the four they'd be playing today.
By the way, agree with you that if Peabody plays today like they did Friday, they are in trouble.

I was there on Friday and that red cards was to severe. It took AB out of the tournament. I have heard around town that MIAA replaced the center referee because of the red card and that they waited until half time so they could get another referee to the field.

Hey, A-B fans, get over it. HB isn't walking through that door. And they aren't going to replay the game. Peabody took you out of the tournament, not the ref. Get pumped up for next year.

How can you possibly say the red card was too severe when the AB girl swung and kicked the Peabody girl. That is an automatic red card. Not even a question of the call. Get a clue

Agree that the AB girl deserved the red for her retailiation of the initional red card offense of the Peabody defender. After the AB forward split the last two defenders her shirt was grabed and she was held by one, therfore Denying Obvious Goal Scoring Oppertunity. Their were no more defenders between her and the keeper.

Yes you are right. It was a cheap play, but no need to retaliate the way that girl did. she really hurt her team
