[QUOTE=HS Harry;652090]It is typically "the" league for D3, and Ipswich, Georgetown and Lynnfield are top contenders.

Ipswich has the best record overall. The ties they did have were D2 & D3 - Lynnfield, Georgetown, Amesbury & Newburyport.

Masco & NAndover don't have the depth to go far. Expect one of the CapeAnn league Teams to win D3. Unfortunately Georgetown, Lynnfield and Ipswich will have to knock each other to make it to the finals, but 1 will win it. Probably Georgetown. D2 is unclear.

The minimum amount in soccer to qualify is 10 games. The maximum is 20 and that is the case only if two of those games were played against exclusion teams; otherwise the maximum is 18.

This year, they have a brutal draw as the number one seed. and their cup-cake NEC and NL schedule won't help them against a line up of strong tourney opponents.

Peabody is certainly one of the teams that could emerge as a title holder, but there may be more causes for concern with the Tanners beyond the schedule issues and hrad draw. What Peabody does have going for them is the explosiveness of Dowd, who is probably the very best HS forward in the state. She is one of very few (like Brock and the Mewises) who can often be contained but typically not eliminated from the score-sheet - that will be the primary concern of their opponents.
The juniors on that team have been playing together since U10 on a very good town team with an excellent coach. Some play club & there are a few who do not, but could easily play on any mid to high level club team if they wanted.
I credit a lot of their talent & development to the aforementioned coach who is still actively involved in the town program, coaching both a U10 & U12 travel team. He is a tremendous asset to the youth soccer program & attends as many Peabody HS games as he can.

Lexington beat Winchester on PKs and will play Acton-Boxborough who beat Brighton on 11/8. Would it be played in Lexington as the 5 seed or does AB take over Brighton's 4 seed?

Games played at higher seed, according to original seed.

Ridiculous - two articles about Brighton in the Globe and how Brighton had an undefeated league season and then they get slaughtered in their first game. MIAA needs to redo the seeding setup or allow some teams to play "down" a division or two. I don't have a kid on the team but I heard that the AB's starters were off about 15 minutes in (score 4-0) and then the JV players who had been brought up were on about 30 minutes in and for the rest of the game. Last half an hour or so AB was not allowed to score with their feet.

I don't know if either team knew what to expect of the other but this is just unfair to both teams involved and to the rest of Div. 1 who had real games they had/have to play to advance.
