    LS 2 Westford 0

    Comment

      From the EMass boys' thread:
"Girls won the DCL also with a 2-0 win over Westford. ...I think this may be the first time ever (if not over a decade) that the LS girls have won the DCL. Probably not often that both boys and girls win the title in the same year. Other than a smelly burp against A-B, which won't happen again if A-B makes it that far and both sides would be undefeated!"

Actually, the L-S boys and girls were monsters in the early part of 2000, so within the last decade. Girls were three-peat DCL champs (not sure about boys), and each were State Champions (boys in 2001, girls in 2003, IIRC).

Congrats to the L-S girls for this year's DCL title and to the boys for their 4 consecutive title (5 in the last 6 years).

On3 must be having a terrific fall season watching from the sidelines with both LS and Amherst having remarkable seasons! Congrats!

Season is almost over anyone have any thoughts on who the final four in Division 1 North and South are going to be????

Obviously LS since they are so superior.

In the North I like Peabody, A-B, Andover, and L-S. In the South Oliver Ames, Franklin, Whimtna-Hanson, and Weymouth. Obviously you have to wait til the seeds come out but those 8 teams play quality competition unlike a lot of these teams.

Agreed. Whether it's because of the league they play in, or their choice to schedule "soft" non-league games, the tournament always shows which teams are prepared as result of their regular season schedules, and which are not. Non-league games against legitimate contender teams are much more valuable that scheduling easy opponents to assure a higher seed. That said, I like final four mentioned, at least from the south. Can't speak on behalf of the north.

I know in the South the higher seeds like Dartmouth, Feehan, and Brockton play terrible schedules. Obviously they have some talented players on their teams but it certainly doesn't help them prepare for tough low scoring tournament games. I like the four mentioned as well although I also like Wellesley to be in the mix as well.

Wellesley won the BSL Herget this year which means they will be probably be ready for the tournament. Should be interesting....

South Final Four 2009: WH, Dartmouth, Feehan, Brockton
South Final Four 2010: Franklin, Feehan, OA, Plymouth South

                            No BSL teams?

You didn't want to go back any further huh? South Sectional Champions: 2005, Braintree. 2006, Braintree. 2007, Weymouth. 2008, Weymouth. Seems like a pretty good run for the BSL...

Great run! Unfortunately those players have graduated. Top four Hockomock teams stronger than BSL top four. Dartmouth, Feehan and Brockton all could make runs. WH seems to be the team with most momentum. what about ACL teams?
