Yes, even without SN, who is now at St. Mark's. The team's the thing.

Don't all HS teams play long ball?

East Bridgewater girls dominate the field
The East Bridgewater girls’ soccer team has dominated this season, outscoring its opponents, 42-4, on its way to an 8-0-1 record and first place in the South Coast Conference.

I realize it's not EB's fault it has a weak schedule, and any team can have an off day (as in the 0-0 tie with weak Cohasset). Still, EB's only impressive win so far is its 2-1 defeat of Cardinal Spellman. We'll find out tomorrow how the rematch goes. Meanwhile, Medfield has a lot of veteran players with championship experience. They will be very tough to beat.

EB's schedule does hurt in the end. Their is a positive out of it . They have the ability to get all players in the game without (for the most part) of players
Just playing cheerleaders on the bench. A question to some of the other of the better teams, and their is no malice in this. How many players does your kids high school carry and is their some kids who never see the field? I had another child go to a school where they would carry 30 kids and play the same 14 every game.

So by the sounds of it, it should be a Lincoln Sudbury-Nashoba state final. A lot of Stars players involved in that.

I think there is still too many games to be played to say who will be in the finals. It's that time in the schedule where injuries will start to play a part in the line ups. There are many contests that could swing the pendulum.

I agree, a whoops. You do have to look at it as EB beat them 3-0 last time so I would consider them even OR maybe EB sucks on weekends? The tie was a Saturday AM too. Anyone see the game who could comment?

EB coach does admit that they do well in the season due to the schedule and then they have a hard time getting far in the playoffs. It seems like their goal this year is to at least make it by game one.

The only other tough game in the schedule is Norwell, who is sorta like their arch rival. They did beat them once this season and I think they play them again. Too bad Norwell is in D3.How do they decide divisions? If EB plays all D3 teams, why aren't they in D3?

The divisions are based on enrolment numbers.

I saw the game... EB played ok, the coach needed to make adjustments and didn't. CS's offense was too fast for the Defense in the first half. One EB forward needed to pass the ball rather than shoot all the time. The wings were open and had better angles to the net on several occations. there were others that held the ball to long and needed to pass rather than run around until CS took it away from them, it is a team sport after all. Other than that it was an even match of the usual kicking and chasing.

                          Bishop Feehan

Bishop Feehan seems to be putting up a good fight. I would liketo see them play Catholic Memorial. They tied La Salle and it was a great game.

I watched the game, a friends daughter plays for EB. The game was one of the better HS games I've seen this season. The atmosphere was tournament like. There were over 100 spectators on the side lines and I saw a few coaches from other D2 schools taking notes.

CS won the game and deserved the win. The CS team played a better game and the coach had a better game plan. That being said, EB probably has a more talented group of players. I was impressed with the CS striker, she picks her spots and exploits other teams weaknesses.

The EB top player is the real deal. She had a good game and did what she could from the position the coach put her in. CS played her very physical. I can't believe the coach never moved her up top. If EB had a weakness it was probably the players playing forward. They were not very creative and rushed most of the shots, at the same time the CS defenders played well together and did not allow many opportunities. CS's Keeper tandem were solid.

Should have told CS this. Maybe they would have let you win. This is trouble with 1 or 2 player teams. Mark them tight and they have nothing else to use.

New week, new top 5s, some changes:

                                D1 North:

                                1. Andover
                                1. Lincoln-Sudbury
                                3. Peabody
                                4. Lexington
                                5. Winchester

I have to elevate L/S to a "co" #1. They remain the only unblemished team in the region and have shown themselves to be the favorite ... right now. Andover just hasn't played but they have a tough stretch with rematches against Central and Masco and a home game against a dangerous Danvers side. Peabody should finsh undefeated but will have to adjust to better opponents in the tournament. The two Middlesex teams have been strong and Winchester's defeat f Central gets them back into the top 5.

                                D2 North:

                                1. Stoneham
                                2. Belmont
                                3. Newburyport
                                4. Tewksbury
                                5. Danvers
                                5. Bishop Fenwick

D2 remains a hot mess. I watched the Fenwick/Danvers game and left incredibly unimpressed by both teams, but in this year's D2 north they are top 5 entries. I have seen all 6 of these teams and it is impossoble to elevate any past the others.
