I wonder if the Salem News or Lynn Item will start to follow the same rule? So its alright to blast a kid so long as you use initials, but improper to report a result (that is reported in numerous other locations) with a real name??

Just the rules of the forum. I see your point, but I think it is a good rule to follow in case someone does say something bad about a kid. This way there is no grey area and everyone is kept in check.

Is there an element of LS that stands out? Was Weston unlucky with their chances?
Didn't see the game, but have to say I would be surprised if it was even close. Comment about both teams having a strong defense was interesting. My sense is that LS has a solid goalie but a shaky back line. Midfield may be their biggest strength, which is a major change from what I recall in previous years. Weston seems to have a very good defense, but tries to drive the ball forward to their speedy strikers rather than possess.
Only 2-0 means LS mid probably had a tough time feeding balls through to their big strikers, both of whom are powerful and fast, which certainly supports the statement about Weston back line.

I did not see this game as well. However, I did see LS vs CC, and "shaky" the back line is not. They have surrendered 1 goal in seven DCL games while scoring 26. The LS keeper is strong. LS is 7-0. Weston is 4-3 in DCL play with 15 goals for and 8 against. The stats would indicate there was nothing difficult about this game for LS.

LS graduated 8 or 9 of their varsity players last year so you can't make any correlations between last year and this. They have a completely different team and non of it is shaky. You should try and catch one. It's not typical boom ball for sure. It certainly will be fun when tournament playoffs come.

I've watched HS soccer for the last 15 years and watched 100s of games. I have never seen a single good HS girls team that didn't have a wide range of talents on the field. That is the big difference between top HS and top club, the clubs can put out 10 field players that can compete at the higher level. In HS you have to adjust your tactics to take advantage of your strong players' strengths, and lessen the mistakes that your weaker players are prone to make. And trust me, all HS teams (including this year's LS edition) have weaker players. When LS faces a stronger opponent they will not maintain as much possession and will at times be forced to resort to so-called "boom-ball" if they don't... they will lose.

Sure I understand what you are saying but are you telling me that there are no strong opponents in the league LS plays in? HS Harry seems to think differently. ALL soccer teams have stronger and weaker players - including club. There are always "relief" players on any given team. There are club teams whose only strategy/option IS boom ball and there are hs teams with that strategy/option also. BUT it is nice to see teams - LS isn't the only one - play possession well Not every soccer team whether it be club or hs has players that can play possession. One distinction between club and hs that you didn't mention is that club plays in a single age group while hs crosses 4. So a hs team can have a wide variety of talent but it doesn't mean they have the chemistry, talent or knowledge COLLECTIVELY to succeed and the coach only has who shows for tryouts to choose from.
