If were talking AB yes the one MPS defender who just came back is vey solid, the other is slow, the midfielder is small and looks confused alot out there and the forward couldn't trap a ball to her feet if her life depended on it.

Typically such offenses are misdemeanors, not felonies.

Working from back to front: Goalie is very strong. Outside D is fast and strong. Inside D is solid, but slow. Center midfield seems too small to win the balls. They are fiesty, but generally look frantic. I haven't had a chance to focus on the forwards in the games I've seen. I'd like to see what they can do with real play when the midfield isn't just booting the ball over the top. What does this have to do with MPS vs. Stars though? Are Stars players on the field while MPS players ("the backbone") are riding the bench? I'd like to hear more about that earlier comment. Isn't the coach from MPS?

Nothing. I thought the quote had to do with Westford didn't it? Two of the big name AB MPS players were out for awhile so it's hard to imagine this supposed animus growing in the absence of playing time for other reasons. The coach was with MPS - nt sure if he still is as he has a couple of other jobs as well.

Well if Westford is having MPS vs. Stars issues, it doesn't look like it is effecting their results. They should keep it up ;-)

Depending on your understanding of the game CC may have looked great, I'll give you that... but good spacing and passing is impossible. They play straight up and down the field with long balls in the air to a single threat. Spacing is length and width. Passing is long and short, paced and at speed, on the ground and very, very infrequently in the air randomly in the direction of a teammate. CC would exemplify the inverse.

Central catholic vs. Andover tonight. Should give us an idea on two things... One if Andover really is 3rd best in the north and two if central really is what everyone makes them out to be.

Central should win by at least 2

You are certainly right. I think the argument here is that bad soccer wins games. Boot ball vs. Skilled play. The problem is when a skilled team starts playing down to their opponent. They will never win that way, especially if they are missing the size.

Rainy day. What are the field conditions like? Is it slippery turf or sloppy grass? Does the field give anyone an advantage?

It's Lawrence stadium so I'm assuming a central catholic home game. Since it's stadium I'm also assuming turf which means game is on rain or shine. Since central catholic has played there before the advantage should be with them.

Both teams play on turf and neither team will be playing on-campus, so as far as home field advantages go... this is a pretty slim one. Central is the better team, but this is a conference rivalry and Andover will be real hungry. Add some rain to even things out and I think you are left with Central as the favorite, but not by much. I agree with HSH that it is nice to have a marquis game coming out of the MVC, its been a long time!!

Yes Andover will come out hungry but so will Central. This game I'm thinking will be a 2 or 3 goal game central winning. If you havnt seen this team play you should do so they aren't the average high school soccer team. Plus they are ranked 2nd in the country so girls high school soccer. Overall should be Centrals closest game I'm thinking.

My daughters team played Central 1-0 , we lost badly to Andover. It should be a good game.
