That has been more consistent in D2 North where Danvers and Belmont have completely dominated te division for about a decade. D1 has had greater movement but you can still expect A/B, Peabody, Framingham, Winchester, Masco, Westford and Central to be solid. For a while teams like Newton North and Andover represented the class of the division, but they have slumped recently. Upstarts like Concord-Carlilse, Lexington, Lincoln-Sudbury and North Andover have potential because they have lots of club players moving up through the youth ranks.

So entering the season you can expect the D1 North champ to be one of only 8-10 select (and traditional) powers. This year is somewhat different in that no teams that were very succesful last year return the complete core of their team. Central, Masco, Peabody, Westford and A/B all lost critical components from their 2010 editions. Teams like A/B have the incoming players capable of stepping in and contributing right away and Central should also be OK. Peabody returns some great individual talent but faces the loss of its midfield playmakers. Masco lost its best scorers and does not have a tremendously strong incoming freshman class - although it is still better than most. Lexington and Concord-Carlilse may be in the best position to finally reach the heights of their respective leagues.
I thought our Lexington team would be very good this season but we played so/so Newton yesterday and when the starters were in Newton controlled the game.

Assuming this is post is genuine, preseason scrimmages are very unreliable guides to a team's true potential, from my experience.

Very true. There are coaches who treat it like a regular game and not using it what it is for; to see what you have for a whole team.

No, I saw what the poster said, thanks. Scrimmages are workshops.

All this argument that central is going to be weak is not true. They will be one of the best teams again. Sure they lost their keeper who was a main aspect of their team but they have a keeper who plays club in for them now. They only lost 1 starting defender who many people on the team can fill. They have both center midfielders back. And one of their starting forwards back. With incoming freshman AW they should have no problem filling in the other spot. They will be a power house.

The central goalkeeper was the best part of their team.

Anyone scrimmage Masco? I'm curious how they look. They seemed to have lost a lot of talent.

Actually 1-0 at 1/2 when 1's were in. AB had a soft goal.

Masco scrimmaged Danvers and Burlington. All teams seemed to play deep into rosters. Masco/Danvers was 2-1 Masco (yes CP played). Masco/Burlington was 4-2 Masco. Masco is young; starting only 2-3 seniors.

CP played and they lost? Did she just miss a lot of opportunities?

Seriously people? I hope your kidding, CP needs support behind her, she is always more successful with great center mids. As good as she is, she can't go it alone.
