    High school girls soccer

So how are tryouts going if they aren't over? And if they are how does your daughters team look? Any team we should look for in D1 that will do well? Any superstar freshman show up? How much conditioning did you guys do?

My daughter is going to be a sophomore she has one session tomorrow and the team will be average. She was on varsity last year so she will make it again. She said there aren't really any good freshman. She said that the first day of tryouts they didn't even touch a ball all they did was running. I think that peobody and central catholic but have potential to win states this year.

My daughter goes to Danvers and she said there wasn't as much conditioning as she thought there was going to be. Her team looks solid. One or two good freshman.

This just illustrates how people come on here and post pretending to be in the know or someone their not. Take 98% of the posts with a grain of salt.

Brockton won't do well again. Coach is clueless and political!

Sounds like every other high school coach. I'm looking for big things from central catholic. Anyone know if their tryouts are over?

The only thing is I don't want my daughters team to go to the state championship because it interferes with casl, and casl is way more important than high school soccer.

Heard from good source that Peabody tried to get a non-league game with Central & Central refused. Anyone know if this is true?

Doubtful. Central has non-league games with Winchester, Shrewsbury, Danvers and Lexington. More than likely there was an inquiry by Peabody but CC already had its NL schedule set. However, I must admit that Peabody isn't the most desirable NL opponent - despite the team's quality - because they have a poor home field (small, dark and with bad drainage). They also have a less than stellar reputation for conduct. In the past it has been Peabody that has failed to beef up its NL slate, and they have paid for it come tournament time. That changed a little last year with the addition of AB and the changes to the NEC format. This year they have tough NL tests with AB and cross town rival Fenwick. They also added two with Lowell and games with Chelmsford and Brookline. Not a particularly demanding group, but far better than the past.

Central will be a powerhouse once again this year. With incoming freshman AW helps too. Peobody still has HD and VD up at forward. If those two play each other in the tournament it will be a game no one will want to miss.
